Of course! but you might want to make sure and wait for someone else here to confirm it as I am not quite sure. Better yet, why don't you ask the Verisign guys because they can give you help better...

There is some code that you need to put in your application_top.php..

That's not absolutely necessary. i've just dumped the favicon.ico file in place and nothing else and it works. (i like the simple approach...).

The additional html code in your <head> section is used if you want to specify different icons in different areas of your site. if you want that then yes, you'll have to make changes in the code where the meta tags are output. it should look something like:.

<link href="http://yoursite.com/favicon.ico" rel="SHORTCUT ICON" />..

Where EXACTLY do you need to put it? What folder and what file in the OSCommerce instalation?..

If you're asking about the .ico file, it needs to be called favicon.ico and it should be placed in the lowest directory that is publicly accessible. in most cases this is the public_html directory, but it could be different with your host. if you have osc installed in a /catalog directory, then it should go in the directory below that - so no changes to osc at all...

I need some help please. I put this in index.php between <head> and </head>.

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://mywebsite.com/favicon.ico"> (except I put my Verisign website URL in there).

I also put the favicon.ico in the root and I still cannot see it. I have tried putting the favicon.ico in almost every directory and I still can't see it. Am I missing something obvious?..

I just tried clearing my cache, cookies etc and still nothing. Would someone please go to nuttymutt.com and lemme know if there is a dog tag there? Much appreciated...

Never mind. I got the little bugger to show up. I used a diff. browser and I see it. Hallelujah. Crisis averted...

Which browser did you have to use? I don't see it from IE V6..

Put an image in the html root folder called favicon.ico. the image should be 16x16 pixels, but, depending on your browser almost any image will work. it will just be resized to fit..

It's best if you create it as an icon (a microsoft .ico type file) but a .gif image renamed to .ico will also work. again, it depends on the browser you're using. but a real .ico format file will work on the most browsers...
