My 1st question is: Will I get very hungry with eating 24 points on Nutrisystem? Many thanks for any answer. Second question of mine... Today is going to be a tough day. I lost my Dad 1 year ago today. It was probabably the hardest day of my life. It also was the day I started thinking about losing weight because of what my Dad said to me on his death bed..

Here is the eulogy I read at his Memorial Service..

My Hero, My Dad.

I dont know how I am going to get through this today, not because I am afraid to speak in public, but because of my emotions. There were many times during the writing of this that I came to tears. So please bear with me..

Losing a Father can be a traumatic experience. However losing a Dad is a life changing experience. I lost my Dad. Any man can be a father but he was my Dad, and he was my hero. From helping me learn to ride a bike, having a catch out on the front lawn, helping with school work, Showing me how to re build an engine, taking me to a Yankee game even though he never liked the Yankees, Going to a Met game with my son and I and snagging a foul ball hit by Lee Mazilli, their are so many things that the list would be endless, he was always there for me in good times and bad. He made me the man that I am today..

I joined the Resolute Hose Company in 1972 because I was proud of my dad and grandfather and their service to the community I wanted to follow in his footsteps. I loved my time as a member of the Hose Company and Sayville Fire Department because of the chance I had to serve alongside Him and my cousins, Charlie and Bill..

In 1976 I left Sayville for a career in the United States Air Force. During my career, I had been promoted ahead of my peers and was supervising a shift of AF Security Policemen. I was responsible for the Security and Law Enforcement at Moody AFB in Georgia, protecting billions of dollars of assets. After I was selected for the Chief Investigators position I had come home on leave we were sitting around just talking and My Dad said to me Dick, I want you to know that I am proud of you. I never thought you would have done the things you have accomplished and you have made me proud. I will never forget that day for the rest of my life.

There are many other things during my military career that my dad didnt know about and that no one will ever know about because of security concerns, that would have made him prouder, but those 5 words he said to me that day, I am proud of you, said it all..

There are many traits that I picked up from my dad. And even my Mom has said You are the one that is most like your dad. Hopefully that is good. Some people might not think so though..

I am going to miss talking to him, just the phone calls in the later years just to say Hey you old fart how are you doing? Even though his hearing had diminished and probably couldnt hear me..

Dad I love you. I will never forget you. You are my hero and I am proud of you...

Of course! but... you might want to make sure and wait for someone else to confirm my answer as I am not very confident. Better yet, why don't you call the Nutrisystem guys because they can help better...

I know the feellings, I lost mine in OCtober '09 and still think of him everyday. Like you, he was the first I wanted to call when I had a big success, and the last I wanted to admit failure to. The thoughts are happy now, and I remember the healthy Dad, not the sick one. I'm also seeing that my son has many of the traits that I valued so much in my father. How lucky I am to have them both...

I wish I could tell you the pain ends. It doesn't but though the scar remains, the wound heals. The first year is the hardest. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF today. It is a day that really is all about you. Do what you need to get through as along as it isn't self destructive.

God bless you. Sending hugs..

I can promise you that next year it will be better...

I lost my Dad this past November. His birthday was this past Jan 14th and that was hard because he really liked his birthday and always made a production of it...

Remember how proud of you your Dad was and even prouder he would be if he saw your most recent accomplishment. Continue to make your Dad proud and cherish your memories...

Can I type with tears in my eyes?.

My Dad moved to Heaven in 2001 and I still miss him every single day! I frequently pull out the graduation card from Dad in which he wrote ... "I am so proud of you! I know you will be as good an attorney as you are a daughter, the best in fact! I love you, Dad" Those words were, and still are, so powerful!.

Please cherish the memories of your beloved Dad and try to smile in his memory today and everyday. He is still in your life and must be so proud of your recent accomplishment...

Losing parents is very hard. I lost my mom a year ago last November, and I've caught myself a few times picking up the phone dialing her number to tell her something (and this past Christmas I kept thinking I needed to call and wish her a merry Christmas). Like you mentioned, something my mom had said the last time I had seen her before her passing is what prompted me to start Nutrisystem and get healthy..

I lost my dad about 10 years ago now, and that was even harder at the time. Always remember and cherish the times you had with your parents, and pass those memories on to your children so their memory will live on through them..

Thanks for sharing the eulogy with us...

It's been five and a half years since I lost my dad. He died prematurely as a direct result of being obese. It is one of the major reasons why I started with NS. I hit 40 and realized that at that age, my dad only had 23 years left. That is simply not enough time for me (if I can help it)..

Thanks for sharing. You'll always miss him but that pain gets less and less every passing year...
