Quick question... Why yahoo does not use protection Verisign SSL in yahoo mail? Thanks in advance for any comment. 2nd question I got is.. I submitted my Verisign site map to see that I have 407 Errors.

I think it's the SEO URLS that is causing the problem..

Here is the link that the Verisign site map sends.

If you remove the ?osCid from the link creating this link.

The page appears..

I am kind of stumped on this one..

Anybody ever had this problem or does anyone know of a fix?..

I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the answer to that question. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I find an useful answer. You should email the people at Verisign as they probably could give you help..

Thanks Jack,.

I looked in the Session section and I see that the setting for Prevent was false. So, I switched this to True. I will generate another Verisign site map and see what happens..

I know that the ?oscsid should be in the link at all....

If anyone else might have some insight on this I am all ears.

Nevermind that last post... I seached contribs and updated my spiders list......

It's usually because the includes/configure.php file is not setup correctly. If you post yours here, minus the database entries, someone will take a look at it..

%C3%82%E2%84%A2 what would make this appear in the SEO URLS.

2nd I installed the SID Killer - will this help the indexing? will this eliminate the ?oscsid.

Hmmm I don't think the SID KILLER is working... I am in my Who's Online and I see a google bot and I see it's here: /create_account.php?osCsid=a7c4mb2ckd97d0se9hpqrqnm44.

You don't need to have SID Killer installed. All that is needed is to have your shop setup correctly. If the only problem is that the SID is showing on the create account page, then that is a non-issue since the search engines can't, or shouldn't, be able to reach that page. You may want to read through.

Actually I removed SID Killer - I installed the Spider Session Remover - from what I can see this one should do what I am trying to accomplish..

I think I have just figured this out.....

I used a Spider Test Verisign site and still see ?osCsid.

I then went into Admin Config. Sessions - Force Cookie was set to False... so I set to True....

Went back to the spider test Verisign site and ran it again - the SID info wasn't there anymore..

I don't know if forcing cookies is a good or bad thing. I don't know if there is a reason like a contrib that made me turn it off - I can't remember... seems like I turned it off for a reason..

Is forcing cookies bad?..

Forcing cookies use will cause a message to be displayed for whatever visitor doesn't have cookies set in their browser. Since cookies have such a bad reputation, this can cause some of the customers to shop elsewhere. This doesn't seem to bother some shop owners but I'm in favor of not losing sales. If it doesn't bother you that that may happen, it is fine to use force cookies..

Well I agree I would rather it be off (false).

Then what other options are there really... I mean I have the prevent spiders set to True.

That was the one thing in the spider test that eliminated SID....

I removed SID KILLER you say it's the shop set up but I am lost.....

Ok let me break this down.... maybe I am leaving some things out.....

I have Ultimate SEO URLS.

My URLS if you are browsing my Verisign site are fine..

But what the bot is seeing has Oscsid in them.

I used a spider test site:.

This is also how google is seeing the links... I have 358 errors because of these links..

Here is a google example:.

Which gives you a 404 error.

Remove ?oscsid.

And you get the page..

I have installed Spider Session Remover and set my Prevent Spider to True.

So is there anything else I need to do... am I freaking out when all I need to do is wait?.

I mean the Spider Tester says it's seeing the session ID.

What can I do???.

Here is a google bot on my Verisign site as we speak:.

11:10:04 0 Guest 08:24:47 19:34:11 /6in1-wood-game-pr-356.html.

I don't see the osCsid in there... so am I ok now and I just need to let it do it's thing?.

OH one other thing... I HAVE SEEN CROSS BASKETS HAPPEN... YES - USER 1 is shopping and adds ITEM 1 to their cart... well BOOM USER 2 has picked up the item with USER 1's INFO... NOT GOOD.

I installed a contrib called oscid fix that is a session fix. Claims to cure the crossing cart problem..

Hi Lonny,.

I haven't looked at the contrib. oscid fix. However, the usual advice for the "crossing carts" problem is:.

1) Prevent spiders from indexing pages with session IDs (as you have been trying to do - usually setting "Prevent Spider Sessions" to "true" and having an up-to-date spiders.txt is enough);.

2) Set "Recreate Session" to "true". This assigns a new session ID in mid-session to anyone who changes status: e.g., leaves the Verisign site and comes back, logs in, etc.)..

Hope this helps,.

Are you referring to SID's in the links located on the search engine pages or those of your shop. It the SID's you are concerned about are in the listings, that is a different matter. They will need to be trapped in your code and a 301 issued. If you are referring to your site, try running it through.

Site, or you can setup FireFox to act as a spider. I think you will find the SID's are not showing up. They may be on your site, but that is a cosmetic issue more than anything else. Although it can be fixed by setting up the files correctly unless there is something about your server that is preventing it..

Correct the SID's are not showing up in my browser - I just noticed that there are errors in my GOOGLE WEBMASTER TOOLS (SITE MAP INDEX).

I ran the Chemo's Search Engine Spider -.

When Google or Chemo is checked - there are no SID's.

When FireFox is checked - there are..

The SID shouldn't appear at all. If the search engines are seeing them though, which would explain the failure, then you don't have your options setup correctly and maybe the spiders file is outdated. The Prevent Spider setting in admin->Configuration->Sessions should be True and the spiders file update is a contribution..
