Your question was: Why have I not lost weight in first week of Nutrisystem?.
Eek. It is my first week too! And I am scared to weigh myself tomorrow! Maybe because you are sick?..
Suzdarcy, don't be too discouraged! As Pam's message details, some people don't lose at the start before going on to amazing weight loss. Everyone's rate of loss will be different based on age, gender, hormones, TOM, amount of muscle, starting weight, sodium intake, and so on. Sometimes it just takes a little time for the scale to catch up with the diet. (I've experienced this firsthand with two 10-14 day stalls followed by big drops in the scale.).
And, Lisaweso32 might be on to something about your having been sick just before you started Nutrisystem. The soup (and maybe even the crackers?) could have had a lot of salt in them, which would have caused some water retention. At the same time, if you weren't drinking a lot of liquids while you were ill, you'd have been dehydrated when you started Nutrisystem because your body wants to hold onto water when you are dehydrated. So, taking all of this togetherbeing sick and not eating normally, then shocking your body with a diet change as soon as you felt better,(and possibly even the exercise if you're body really wasn't 100% when you started NS), it could be that your body is a little "confused" with all the things that have been going on. Drinking all the water usually helps with water retention, but if you were very dehydrated at the start, maybe it would take a little more time to work it's magic. All of this is just my speculation, but again, I just hope that you aren't too discouraged. Hang in there!..
I appreciate the encouragement and thoughts as to my stall in weight loss. I have no intention of not hanging in there and will stay in touch about my weight loss. Amazing about the women in a wheel chair not being able to exercise and still losing weight. What an inspiration!.
Happy Easter to all. May it be a blessed one!..
Since I'm not quite sure how this works don't know if you received my "quick reply" but wanted you to know how much I appreciated hearing from you. It was just the encouragement I needed. Congratulations to you on the spectacular success you have had and then maintained it. It's also nice that now you help others..
Thank you for the kind words, Suzanne. There are many successful LOSERS who stick around to help the new members...remember, one day in the not too distant past, we were brand spankling new, too..
The very best to you on your NutriJourney!..
