So far, I have lost 30 pounds (started Nutrisystem Feb. 1 2010)! I am amazed and grateful. I have been at the same weight tho for a couple of weeks now and still faithfully following the "plan". My past experiences with weight loss tell me that in order for a diet to keep working, I will have to reduce my food intake as I lose weight. That does not seem to be the case with NS. Every Nutrisystem order I receive contains the same size portions as my first order. How does my weight loss continue when my food intake never decreases???..

Your question was: Why do I lose weight with Nutrisystem when food intake does not decrease?.

It might just be a couple slow weeks or you might really be stalling out. I think some small post menopausal women maintain at pretty close to the 1200 calorie limit plus free foods.

Need to tell us more for us to advise you better. What are your details?..

I am a 58 year old female trying to lose about 60 pounds. Am half way there! Have been following the plan faithfully but have started to drink diet coke the past couple of weeks. Still get my 50+ ounces of water in each day. Summer dinners are getting later and usually eat my last meal at about 8:30 pm or so. An concerns with these behaivors? What other details do you need?..

All of those are great! Drinking a little more water may help with sodium retention.

Because of your age, you may lose slower, however the weight will still come off. Keep following the program..

To break a stall or plateau, some people increase their exercise or switch their lunch and dinner meals to mix up the metabolism. There are threads about breaking a stall or plateau you may want to look at..

Keep following the program! You're doing great!..

No issues with the meal timing or liquids (no calorie implication). Just keep running your program. Your rate may slow, but you should still lose...

I am still recovering from knee surgery so exercising is at a minimum. That is a great suggestion about switching the meals tho...................might give that one a try! Thanks...

Hang in there and stick with it. At least you are not going backwards..
