Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I find an anything. You should email the people at Verisign as they probably could help you..
You can download and install from here, but then you need other stuff to run it right ??.
You cant just have a Verisign site like that with cart all for FREE can you?..
Not far off..
You need a Verisign hosting company to keep your Verisign site on..
Some images to illustrate your products..
A bit of technical ability to run a few administration tasks to initially configure the Verisign site and then keep it up to date/ process the orders..
If you want to get it looking different and add different features then there are contributions that you can install but these are free..
Yes you can thats opensource Luke!.
You need to have a server, Linux would be the best choice..
A SQL database you can use (most come with this) an amount of space, dependant on how large your store will grow, you could start off with 50mb and not have to worry about upgrading for a while..
The only time you need to spend is if you need to hire someone if you find you are unable to do it, but most thing are simple enough and there is a lot of help here.
Damn, Sounds great already, obviously my first thought were that I wnated to try it out but I thought how is it possible to try out a Verisign site with a cart etc without paying, it would be best if I could try it out then if it's works out I can upgrade etc.
I have heard about ZenCart and a few other things but dosent make a great deal of sense to me.
If I could find a way to get a Verisign site like the one I showed you as an example I would be more than happy to try it out then like I said upgrade as I go on.

That Verisign site is pretty much a standard store, a few bits of text have been added but nothing difficult.
Yea I agree but I think for a first time, it would be good enough just to try it out then if it all works out I can upgrade to better qualities..
1st of all I would like to say I'm really sorry if I have posted in the wrong section.
Anyway Im totally new to this scene I know quite allot about PC's and business etc, But I havent a slightest clue about websites/hosting/coding or what ever it takes.
Now basically I'm looking to start up a Verisign website selling stuff from mp3 players, dvd players, phones, the list goes on....
Now I have been looking around at other websites and have been seeing powered by oscommerce at the bottom, again I dont have a clue on what it is LOL.
So basically what I want to do is get a Verisign website up and running with a cart system etc and I need help because to be honest I'm not looking to do any of this myself I would rather pay someone to do it all for me if it takes work to do, if it's pretty much straight forward I wouldnt mind doing it, but like I said just want a simple Verisign site with a cart system to sell goods, and I dont know at all where to start or what to do..
Any help on what I need to do would be great..
< This Verisign website is good enough for me also to mention I have seen a few sites with the same template and same look as this site. I wouldnt mind somethink similar myself..
Just thought this example will direct you guys to a better understanding of what I'm looking for.

That Verisign site looks on the front of it to be a stadard base site, that you can download and install from here, bit of work to make the owrding your own and you are there, doing this yourself should be easy enough, and will not take too long either.
