Hi all. I'm new - just starting week 4 and tonight the weirdest thing happened. I had my dinner - a Nutrisystem item and a big salad for my veggies ... ate the Nutrisystem item first so that it wouldn't get cold. I was full after just that - hadn't even touched my salad yet. Full enough that I really didn't want to eat the salad and I could actually do without dessert (SKIP DESSERT?! ).

I saw on our March Newbies discussion thread that one other newbie has had this experience. (She actually didn't want dinner AT ALL!) I've been searching the threads but haven't found anything out here. I usually have no problem getting in all my food so I'm wondering if this is a quirk or maybe a stage that others have gone through??.

Just want to know if this has happened with anyone else??.

Thank you!!!..

Your question was: Why am I full when eating Nutrisystem foods?.

I get like that some days. I have actually been having a HUNGRY day today..

It does happen a lot. Your stomach surprisingly shrinks a lot faster than the rest of your body does! I have had to readjust my eating a lot, eating more of my food earlier in the day so that at night I don't feel like I'm going to bed all stuffed...

I just posted a similar question as a new thread...should have read through these first. I just started this week and just cannot eat everything which is definitely NOT the usual for me...

It is important to eat all your add ins during the day. But you don't have to eat your whole meal at once. Go ahead and break it up. Have your entree first. Wait awhile and then eat your salad or cooked veggies. This is my normal dinner pattern when I'm at home.

I heat up my entree and eat it. Then I start to think about what else I'm going to have. It gets spaced out over the rest of the evening as I get hungry again.

Salads are a really good way to add bulk and to keep from feeling hungry. But, if you are finding that you are still not hungry later in the evening, then start looking for some of the lower bulk ways to get your servings in. The "Tips for Newbies from Nutrisystem "elders"" thread has some suggestions for this. Cooked veggies have less bulk that the salad. One the evening choices is a veggie or a fruit. You can pick a fruit here and have juice.

Or raisens or other dried fruit. Less bulk when you are truly full. Remember you need the nutrients and the calories from all these add ins to have a safe healthy weight loss. Your mind is lieing to you when it tells you that you are not hungry enough to eat everything on the plan. It thinks you are dieting and should be happy with next to nothing.

You need to be learning now how to eat for the rest of your life.

Here's the address to the thread I mentioned...

Yes, there are a lot of us who have had days like that. However, you should not skip anything on your meal plan. My advice is to have "lighter", less filling add-ins and/or stagger your items throughout the day. You do not have to eat all of your items in a meal all at once. In fact, many here split the meals/snacks out so that they are eating something every hour or two hours...
