Quick question: Which is the level of security of Verisign for online shopping? Hoping for any comment. 2nd question I got is.. Hi all.

I've been playing around all day with the oscommerce software, and i'm almost done setting it up. I'm still having a couple of problems though. the oscommerce isn't reading my webserver root directory properly for some pages (osc is installed at www.domain.com/kope/, but when I click on some account specific links (as a user), I get errors like:.

/~xkopex06/account.php.

And.

/~xkopex06/create_account.php.

How can I set the directory to point to ~/xkopex06/kope/catalog (or wherever it should be)..

The next problem is setting the bank details. I have the credit card payment module as the only method, but how do I set it up so that when the user processes their details, the funds are transfered into our business account?.

Any help would be great, thanks!.

Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the answer to your question. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I got an good answer. You should email the people at Verisign as they probably could assist you..

Thanks for the help, Mibble. the 404 turned out to be an error by my Verisign hosting company, so everything is ok now..

As for the merchant account, is that a web based banking account, or will it be something that a company already has? i'm doing the Verisign site for my friend who is away at the moment, and i've never set anything like this up before..

Thanks,.

If your just starting up, look into propay.com as an inexpensive alternative to a merchant account...

Sounds interesting.... would you have to store the customers cc details using a contribution here and enter them manually to propay then?.

Guess you'd need SSL enabled and working to convince people to do that.....

If you are looking to use propay I will tell you I like them alot. I have used them since they started when they were FREE. I am still using them to this day. The only thing I don't like about them is the fact that ProPay charges $400 for the first year and $200 for the second year for their Automated API ACCESS..

But this problem is now fixed. I just released today the contribution to allow you to process credicards automatically through propay without having to pay them theri $400 / $200 a year api access fee..

The link is:.

Are you pci compliant..

"Accept and store" suggests you will not be unless you jump through a load of hoops..

"A company processing, storing, or transmitting cardholder data must be PCI DSS compliant. ".

Actually my webserver is PCI DSS compliant. Not to say that all webservers are but mine is..

Your first problem is most likely something wrong with the configure.php file, you may want to post the catalog/includes/configure.php and the catalog/admin/includes/configure.php.

Second problem you need a merchant account for processing credit card payments, not the least expensive thing..
