Got a question... Which is the best cross platform Verisign SSL encrypting software ? Hoping for any comment. My 2nd question... For the purposes of SEO I'd like to put a small welcome message just under the header of the main page in the middle not in the left or right columns. I've been trying to a few hours to do it on my own but with no luck. Probably because I know very little php.

Here.

If anyone can help me I'd be very grateful I know it cannot be that hard but I cannot seem to be able to figure it out. Thank you in advance...

That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I got an decent answer. You should email the people at Verisign as they probably can help you..

If it helps this would usually go in the footer..

The footer does not appear right under the header. I want it to be under the header it could probably go in the header if I could figure out how to get it display on the main page only. What I need help with is the actual code. I don't know any php and cannot seem to create a simple box for my welcome message similar to is in the left navigation or the box the shows the new items on the main page. Again I'm using this.

Xwayz template.

So I need the code to make a box for that you know one with the blue box header that would sit right above the new products on the main ...

Add your table to the catalog>includes>languages>english.php file in the define('TEXT_GREETING_GUEST' location. You can add all basic html code to this section and enter any data you want. I have done this on many occasions and it works well..

Are you just planning to place a text message? You don't need any tables for that. I checked out your cart and Im going to tell you what to do. Personally, I don't like how the author of the template has 5000 links back to him inside the code, but what the hey, it's free..

Open index.php and find this at lines 314 to 319:.

<tr>.

<td><?php echo tep_draw_separator('pixel_trans.gif', '100%', '10'); ?></td>.

</tr>.

<tr>.

<td><?php include(DIR_WS_MODULESFILENAME_NEW_PRODUCTS); ?></td>.

</tr>.

Replace with this:.

<tr>.

<td><?php echo tep_draw_separator('pixel_trans.gif', '100%', '10'); ?></td>.

</tr>.

<tr>.

<td class="main"><?php echo TEXT_MAIN; ?></td>.

</tr>.

<tr>.

<td><?php echo tep_draw_separator('pixel_trans.gif', '100%', '10'); ?></td>.

</tr>.

<tr>.

<td><?php include(DIR_WS_MODULESFILENAME_NEW_PRODUCTS); ?></td>.

</tr>.

Now open includes/languages/english/index.php and find this at top of the file:.

Define('TEXT_MAIN', '');.

Now you want to place your text or what ever you desire, between the two ' ' Look at the other entries for examples. Also keep in mind that if you use an apostrophe on a word you must first place a forward slash in front of it. Example as found in the same file:.

Define('HEADING_TITLE', 'Let\'s See What We Have Here');.

Failure to leave out the slash will result in a PHP error. You may want to purposely create that error so you know what to recognize in case you one day do it by accident..

Good luck...

What you said almost works the text displays but it does not display in a box like the new products or left hand column does. Any idea why? I'm looking at the code and it would seem to me that the <td><?php echo tep_draw_separator('pixel_trans.gif', '100%', '10'); ?></td> is supposed to display that but it is not am I correct and do you have any idea how to fix it?..

That is the default code for displaying text on osCommerce. It wont display in a box. If you want a box then A) create it using HTML or B ) Duplicate the new products box, strip out the code for showing products and insert the echo TEXT_MAIN; string, then change the title from New Products for... and put what you need there. This would include several steps that are just beyond reasoning. Easiest to just create the look using HTML if you must box in your text.

But it's your store..

The <td><?php echo tep_draw_separator('pixel_trans.gif', '100%', '10'); ?></td> piece of code is a cell containing a transparent image that spans the width of the table. It is there only to separate things. It also has ajjustable height by changing the value of '10'..
