Good question... I dunno what is the right answer. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I bump into an decent answer. You should email the people at Verisign as they probably can answer it..
What do you mean "add your details to the required fields"? I do NOT know how to do very much on this site..
Where do I remove the links for the products?.
Can anyone walk me thru this? please. I saw this Verisign site for the first time 2 days ago, I'm really lost...
It's all your sons fault. He should have never gave up. I think you should just take a stick and beat the bloody hell out of him. Maybe kick him in the ribs a few times for good measure too...
And after the beatings you could read the documentation that is found in your download, when you are finished with that you could access the knowledge base found in the above link under network..
Then when you get a grasp of what oscommerce has to offer you can learn some html and php..
When you say what to do with paypal you did not say what you have done so far! Have a PayPal account?.

I don't even know if he did a download of anything. I'll look on puter for it. As far as pp is concerned, I opened an acct. and did the test money transfer, so the acct is alive at their end at least. I called them and asked what to do and they seemed confused by the question. their answer was "what does os need and we'll provide it".
I can't be too hard on son as he left the US to go to medical school in England, beside, my leg is not long enough to reach his a$$ to kick it now..
Here is a blunt question for anybody - did he make an error by usng OSC for this store???? Should I begin over elsewhere?.
The store looks nice though, don't you think? berkirastore.com..
I'll discuss this on the phone if anyone wants to help - I simply do not not know what to do..
I am in England. If you wish, I can go and kick him in the ribs for you..
Stick with osCommerce, it'll do you just fine after you get over the initial learning curve...
OK - here's what I've discovered - I searched the entire computer and there are no osc files, therefore it appears nothing was downloaded. Does something indeed need to be downloaded? If so, what exactly?.
Come on guys, I know you can help me with this!!!!!!!!!..
I can't help you with PayPal, but the OsCommerce files are not on your PC (unless you have a webserver at home ??), they are on the server of the webhosting company. You will need the hostname, username and password (get these from the Verisign hosting company if you don't know) to start working on your site...
Look at the above link. Choose Solutions and then Downloads and download a copy of osc. inside is the documentation.pdf..
Your son has used a template that Template Monster has coded. You are in for some problems when it come to making modifications..
As for PayPal follow this link for setup..
Thank you nousername and clutch for your help - I'll start there - don't be surprised if I post more questions..
My son started to set up our store and lost interest, now I'm stuck trying to figure it out. I have put a number of items on various pages and actually the store looks real good, however I really need 2 things NOW..
First - I opened an account with PP and did the necessary trial transaction - NOW WHAT? - in the module I turned on PP BUT isn't there something else that needs to be done to activate it?????.
Second - There a quite a few "new products" shown yet there seems to be no way to add, change or delete these items. Where are they??.
Thank you in advance for your help - Bob ()..
PayPal is simple to set up, you need to set it in your admin / modules / payment. then add you details to the required fields.
Products new shows all of your products. if you do not want them sowing remove the links.
