Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I got an good answer. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably could assist you..

Kashi Go Lean Cereal (the regular one) - 3/4 cup is a serving and is loaded with protein..

Quaker Weight Control Oatmeal.

Kashi Oatmeal.

South Beach High Protein Bars.

Kashi TLC Bars (look at the flavors carefully as the calories/stats vary - aim for ones with a min of 5- 6g of protein and ~140 = 150 cals..

Egg with Whole grain toast.

Egg beaters (1/2 cup) with veggies and FF cheese if you want and whole grain toast.

ANutrisystembreakfast entree is 1 lean protein and 1 low GI serving...

One of my favorite breakfasts is this:.

1/4-1/3 cup eggbeaters.

1 slice ff american cheese.

1 sandwich thin.

I toast the sandwich thin, cook the egg in a small bowl in the microwave so it will be round to fit the sandwich thin. (Be sure the spray your bowl with cooking spray). I top the egg with the cheese and put it on the toasted bun. You have a breakfast sandwich! At times I have added in some turkey sausage crumbles but really prefer it just plain. I eat a serving of cottage cheese and a banana with this and have a very filling breakfast!..

I like to keep it simple. I love.

Nature's Path Organic Cereals.

Many are around 110 calories per serving, so paired with 4 ounces of almond milk I get a nice breakfast for 130 calories...

Those are low in protein. For me protein is very important, especially in the morning. I could easily eat 4 bowls of those cereals and still be starving. With the Kashi Go Lean, 3/4 cup is 110 calories, 10g of protein and 8g of fiber. Add in 1/2 cup of milk and you have a very filling bowl of breakfast - it blows the stats off of theNutrisystemcereals. Since the protein is so high, there are times that I use a full cup of cereal (140 cals, 13g of protein) and use 1/2 cup of the SF Almond Milk (which I haven't bought in a long time) for 20 calories. Almond Milk doesn't have the protein that regular or soy milk has, but with this cereal you don't miss the protein in the milk...

My plan calls for an entree, a dairy or protein and a fruit for breakfast. I flex it the same way, so I will have either Quaker Weight Control oatmeal or Kashi Go Lean cereal with fruit added. The protein is usually a Wonderslim protein shake. This was o.k.'d byNutrisystemcounselors...

And when people ask for subs for theNutrisystementrees we are supposed to give subs that match ALL of theNutrisystemstats, not just the calories...

Actually, we can make whatever suggestions we want, which is what I did. I will leave it to the original poster to review those suggestions and determine what works for them. Some of us think outside of your tiny little box, and have been extremely successful in doing so..

I'm not sure where you got the impression that you are theNutrisystemPolice, but I don't need policing, or someone to be hypercritical of my posts. You may make your own contributions, and I can make mine...

I definitely don't think I am theNutrisystemPolice, but when someone asks forNutrisystemsubs with similar stats, then that is what should be provided. Because I pointed out for the benefit of the OP, and other people who read the boards and perhaps are not familiar with the program and the stats, that the item you suggested is low in protein and maybe not the best substitution, that does not mean that I am hypercritical of your posts..

I'm sure you would be happy if I crawled back inside my tiny little box and sealed it shut with tape...

The OP asked for substitutions that are similar, not identical, toNutrisystembreakfast entre options. That is what I made. Options for increasing the protein in the meal period are available; in fact, a protein serving is called for to accompany the breakfast entre, whether anNutrisystementre or a substitution. Neither of us knows what the OP likes or does not like. My suggestions are as meritorious as yours are; it is for the OP to decide..

Your post was egocentric and did not take into account that your suggestions do not work for everyone. I am vegetarian, seek out organic options whenever possible, and do not use eggs or dairy. Therefore, my offering of suggestions came from that perspective. The OP might find that beneficial; he or she might not. Your narrow-minded post sought to deprive him or her of that opportunity..

You were hypercritical, being dismissive of both the cereal and the almond milk (comprising my entire post) as viable options. It is not your place to do so. If Dietary Services wishes to scold me for making the suggestions, then so be it..

I notice that you did not scrutinize any of the other posters suggestions, and pointed out for the benefit of the OP, and other people who read the boards and perhaps are not familiar with the program and the stats, that the item you suggested is low in protein and maybe not the best substitution. May I then assume that all of the other suggestions were perfectly in line withNutrisystemguidelines?.

I am not bound by your rules or your expectations. None of us are. Live and let live. That is what would make me happy..

I am happy to continue this discussion, but not at the expense of hijacking the thread, which is what you did when you took it upon yourself to deem my suggestions as inferior to yours, and then could not let things be. Feel free to send me a private message if you wish to do so...

Losingw8now is not the police, but I don't know anyone on the boards who understands the science of the plan as well as she does....just sayin'.....

She also is well known for being helpful when asked...

That wouldn't work for long - one of us would let you out cuz we'd miss you..

Or at least pop some air holes in the box so I can breathe...

Ya dropped this.

Seriously though, if I ever need food advice, you, Pam and Linda are my top choices for information. You always give closest toNutrisystemstats suggestions and always mention if it is off as far as the stats go..

So thanks for that..

LOL RooRat..

We'd all miss her for sure..

Looks like you started the conflict with that comment..

Substitutions ARE supposed to follow theNutrisystemguidelines/stats in order to keep on plan without detriment to your weight goals. Whether or not individuals choose to follow them is another story..

Your suggestions might be valid for you and do have merit. However, if your suggestions do not meet theNutrisystemguidelines, you will be corrected and/or called on it - whether by losingw8now or another member. We're all in this together and should work together. You cannot succeed by not following the guidelines (at least not for long) and you cannot take comments personally or be overly sensitive or defensive. BTW - the Dietary Services people are usually too busy monitoring other threads specific to meals/foods than to keep up with what is posted in the General Support Forum - if you want them to review your suggestion, post it there and see what kind of response you get. - Just sayin!..

Wow- do you two have a history? Don't answer. I was just on another thread where Jean-Guille just jumped all over you too, 'Losing'..

When I ask "is somthing similar"- I MEAN as close to as possible. I may not have worded it exactly "correct". I want the stats to be pretty close and I want someone with alot of experience and sucess to help me out. 'Losing' has really been helpful to me. If you do not have something nice to say then don't say anything at all. Your attitude helps no one, not even you..

Please do not follow her around and make threads miserable for the rest of us- especially newbies. That is who we are here for too...

Calling on Coach Mark to say something funny. Come in Coach Mark.....

Jean, don't worry, we are sometimes protective of the noobs who don't know the plan well enough to make variations. The plan works best if you follow the food group balance as closely as possible. Naturally, after you understand that and your own body, you can bend - but we like to be precise so everyone understands the 'rules' before they bend them...

Has the smoked cleared.

I have been very successful with NS, but have never ever followed it to a tee once.. I can never eat all the food and the program can get very boring if you eat the same things all the time.. I am pretty creative with my add-ins that may or may not fit theNutrisystemguidelines to a tee and it has worked great for me....

Some people can get too focused on every little detail ofNutrisystembut there are plenty of ways to be successful and no one way is right or wrong if you ARE successful... What works for one person may not work for another...

These boards are full of opinions... we are all adults and can decide what information we want to use and what we don't....

Hope everyone can go drink a margharita now and relax!!..

Deb, thanks for pointing out that protein is indeed is making sure what we eat meets theNutrisystemguidelines...

Goodness gracious. Losing has never provided anything but helpful information, and this attack seems so silly to me. I don't always follow the plan perfectly (especially after a year following NS) but to be fair to new members I always put a disclaimer when listing my not-so-NS-friendly meals on the boards..

Cereal and almond milk (all carbs, no protein) is notNutrisystemfriendly by any stretch of the imagination. Yes, I eat more carb-focused meals now than I did while I was losing, and have not gained, but I would never give my meals as a suggestion for someone else if it didn't follow the proven formula. It's just not considerate...

Are you for real? Get over yourself. If you are going to make a suggestion, make sure it fits theNutrisystemstats, not leave it up to someone else to figute it out and fill in the blanks...

When giving alternatives toNutrisystemmeals I dont call them suggestions...I call them sub-gestions..

Just thought I would put that out there...

Coach- that is great!!.
