Got a quick question: What's the typical points amt allowed per day on Nutrisystem? Hoping for any response. Another quick question... This is the recipe I wanted to make the other day but discovered that I didn't have any nutmeg, so I made the cinnamon ones! I bought some nutmeg so I made these this am for my kids. They were a hit! I used baking mix here, but you can also use the pancake mix if you prefer!! Chris.

Plain Donuts.

1/3 c baking mix (bisquick or whole grain Insta-bake).

1 tsp Splenda brown sugar.

1/8 tsp baking soda.

1/8 tsp baking powder.

1/8 tsp nutmeg.

2 tsp Splenda.

1 tbsp Any Whey protein powder.

1 tsp vanilla.

1/3 c buttermilk.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Spray a mini donut or muffin pan with cooking spray. Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl and pour into pan. I was able to get 6 out of it. Bake until they are done, mine took 12-15 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar when they are done if desired.

Counts as your breakfast entree..

Here is a link for the pan that I used to make these:.

They look wonderful! I plan to try them this week sometime...

Wait, wait, WAIT a minute!!!!.

You mean to tell me that ALL of those beautiful little donuts is ONE SERVING????.

Hot Diggity DAWG!!!! WOOOOO! Thank you! I am so going to try this and see if I can come up with a Nutrisystem friendly lavender icing (been addicted to lavender donuts since last year - thank goodness they are seasonal!)..

Hey Chris,.

Just a quick question, are egg beaters missing in this recipe, or does it not need it?.

Nope didn't need it!.

They came out nice and crispy on the outside and light and airy and tender in the middle. The egg would just make it heavy and eggy. LOL!!! Although I bet if you beat an egg white to stiff peaks and fold it in, that would be good too! Not nessasary but good!!..

Thanks for the clarification. The reason I asked was because the cinnamon ones had the egg beaters. I just had them and they were so YUMMY!!!!! The recipe made 4 muffin-sized 'donuts' and now I am very full! Thanks for all your GREAT recipes!! Nutrisystem should hire you to be one of their master chefs!!..

They are so delicious and so...summery!! regular donut with lavender buds mixed into the icing (not TOO many though). I was so intrigued that I bought one - and then I just became addicted. That was before Nutrisystem though..

Quick question - is the buttermilk a must? or can I substitute other types of milk?..

No you can just sub out milk for this one and it should be fine! Those sounds really cool! I bet they're pretty too!!..

Chris, I made your cinnamom donuts in a puff pan this morning. They were delicious. I ate four of them, then decided to take a picture. I forgot my password to PhotoBucket and it told me I had to wait since I tried too many times. I may post the pic later if I ever get itno it..

Thank you for the recipe...

Christina, Here is the picture of the cinnamon donut puffs that I made from your recipe. I ate 4 of them before I even thought of the camera..

They were so very light and delicious...

Hi christinagray, thank you so much for the recipe. They are awesome and thank you for sharing them. God Bless You. Marisol..

I bought some lavander to try this out!! So the lavander only goes into the icing, not the donut itself??..

Ohhh they look yummy!! I'm so glad they worked in the puff pan!!..

Oh it's totally my pleasure!!! I'm so glad you liked them!!..

Christina these are fantastic I just made a batch for my husband and he loved them. Thanks, one quick question do you have the calorie count for this? Sorry I am lazy if you don't I guess I can figure it out-LOL(smiles)..

1/3 c baking mix (bisquick or whole grain Insta-bake) (130-140 cals depending on brand used).

1 tsp Splenda brown sugar (20 cals).

1/8 tsp baking soda.

1/8 tsp baking powder.

1/8 tsp nutmeg.

2 tsp Splenda.

1 tbsp Any Whey protein powder (23 cals).

1 tsp vanilla.

1/3 c buttermilk (30 cals).

So that's about 203 cals- 213 cals for the batch of them. I'm not sure of the protein count off hand and I totally don't feel like getting up and going to look! LOL!!..

No thats perfect he counts cals so he was wondering. Thanks so much I love plain dough nuts and OMG!!!!! These are yummy..

Is there a plan for a chocolate version of these donuts in the future?..

You could probably do that pretty easy with this recipe. I would just leave out the nutmeg and add in maybe 2 tsp dark cocoa powder and instead of the buttermilk, use chocolate calorie countdown milk or chocolate soy milk...

You are a genius! My kids will love them. Thanks!.

P.S. I found the Wilton version of the fluted pan at Wal-Mart Supercenter for $7.99...

Thanks so much for all your fun recipes. We loved the cinnamon donuts. If you use Nutrisystem pancake mix for these plain donuts, would you delete the Any Whey? Anything else different?..

I made these this morning in my puff pan. They were absolutely delicious! Before Nutrisystem I ate donuts a lot, and have really missed them. These taste just the same! Yum!!..

I took this recipe and made a mini bunt cake out of it. I then put strawberries and a little bit of light whipped cream. Voila instant strawberry shortcake. I am in love with it. Can I just say CG you have a gift my friend...

Has anyone tried to make any of the donuts using a mini-muffin pan?..

I used a regular muffin pan and they came out great!..
