Your question was: What syrup to put on Nutrisystem pancakes?.
Walden Farms pancake syrup is essentially zero calories, can be purchased in many supermarkets in the diet foods aisle, and many of us find it really tasty!..
I use Vermont sugar free. We only get Walden Farms salad dressings around here.
It's 15 cals for 1/4 cup and I use 3 T for a free food...
I use Aunt Jemima sugar free, 1/4 cup is 20 calories and it taste exactly the same as the regular.
Oops, I was wrong, it is SF Mrs. Buttersworth......
I noticed that that the sugar free syrups are usually made with sorbitol or sugar alcohol- has anyone experienced stomaches when using the SF syrups? Just wondering.. I would like to try it but I'm afraid to because of the ingredients..
You can also use tsp of honey as a free food...
Do you eat the Nutrisystem pastries, muffins and other products with sorbitol? Some people have issues with it, others do not. You can also use SF jam or make your own fruit syrup/topping by microwaving some fruit and splenda...
I have eaten the muffins and felt fine, but one time I had a bar for lunch and I was miserable all day. I love the idea of using SF jam or making my own topping, I will give that a try.. THANKS!..
I slice up a small banana and sprinkle it with Spenda brown sugar. THen I microwave it for 45 seconds. I spoon it over the pancakes...
I like to mix frozen berries with coconut extract or ff sf syrup and then microwave or heat them until they are mush and they layer the mixture between my pancakes with the berry juice as syrup. Also mixes well into yogurt and cottage cheese. Similarly, you can mix sf jam with coconut extract and put it on Nutrisystem cake for a tasty dessert..
Walden Farms products can be purchased online through their website if they are not available in your area..
I use ff whipped cream and I usually put a few strawberries/blueberries in the food processor and pour that on top. Yummy...
Sugar Free jam and a few sprays of I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Spray...(ICBINB).
But I have the Walden Farms syrup too..
Mayo????? seriously?? yuck!..
I heat up a serving of blueberries with some splenda till hot, squish with a fork to get the juice out, and then plop on my pancakes. YUM!..
I mash a banana & put that on top adding a little sugar free syrup or jam...I find the mashed banana is great heated or not and I also add it to any of the other pastry items as a topping..
While I usually use WF or another sf syrup, DH loves sf applesauce on his pancakes..
Must say, I find the pancakes rather sweet, so do not add anything. Is this un-American?..
