I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the answer to your question. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I discover an answer. You should email the people at Verisign as they probably can answer it..
Thanks for the advice! No, I don't see a setting called product information under the configure section, are you running an older version of osC?.

I am also using 2.2 but I have heavily modified so dont know which ones I have added....
I found this contribution helpful in your case..check it out.
So we tried that contribution and still it's not working.....
When people buy a product, the database is just not updating for some reason. We're having to manually remove each product after it's sold out to keep customers from buying sold out products..
We're thinking of trying this contribution here:.
But it doesn't appear to have the complete solution to the problem..
What I'm wondering is just what page is used to execute the order so I can check it for errors. Surely this is not a default setting of osC?.
If anyone has any other pointers we'd be overjoyed and most grateful! :-)..
The page that does the stock updating is checkout_process.php.
There are settings for stock in the admin (Configuration->Stock). Those have to be set correctly for what you want..
Then the only time people can still buy a product after it has been sold is either if they put it in their shopping cart when still on the Verisign site or put it in their shopping cart when logged-in and haven't removed it. Then it will be restored from the table customers_basket the moment they log in (see.
And link therein for more code to prevent that)...
Thanks so much for the reply! I tweaked the config settings under the stock menu as well as installed the previously mentioned contribution and now the products are being removed in that respect..
However, now we're dealing with an issue with product sizes. (We sell clothes). Lets say we have 2 mediums, 2 larges and 2 smalls of a certain item entered into the database. Let's say someone tries to buy 4 larges of that item. Nothing will prevent them from doing that and we have two orders that can't be filled due to this malfunction..
How do we set the config settings to only allow the inventory we've entered into the system to be sold? i.e. How do we set it so that we can have like 2 small, 2 medium and 2 large of the SAME type of clothing? We're having to email a lot of people saying that their orders didn't go through and that's not too good for business as you know!.
Is this a setting on the stock menu in the admin section?.
Thank you so much for the pointers!..
So the problem is still there. The attributes are not tied to our database. i.e, when I enter in two large's of a certain product, the stock does not deplete when we sell those two large's and we end up selling over what we have in actual inventory..
I tried changing the settings in the admin panel under "stock", but to no avail. Do we need a contribution such as.
To get it to work?.
Any help is so greatly appreciated! Shucks, I'll buy ya lunch if you're anywhere near! :-)..
It seems that we have a problem with products staying in the store inventory even after the inventory of the unique product has been sold out..
How do you set the code or the admin panel to remove a product once the inventory runs out?.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!.
In my oscommerce, in the admin panel, in the configuration section, there is something called product information in there.
Prevent Adding Out of Stock to Cart.
I dont know if this is a contribution..
