That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the right answer. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I find an anything. You should email the people at Verisign as they probably could help you..
Thank you for that information but I checked and that isn't the issue. Im also using a MAC at this time the same thing happens when I use My PC Im never taken to a page to login...
Have you tried to delete browser history and delete passwords under Tools and then Options?.
Once you have done this, close and reopen browser..... Had the same thing the other day and.
Did this....now is fine... Good luck..
Your admin log in should be at:.
(if you used the Catalog as the base folder).
(change index to whatever you installed oscommerce into).
(if you installed oscommerce in root)..
Oscommerce is installed in the root but when the admin page opens Im not being asked for a password or login..
Also I'm new to this how do I run the "product listing setup file" ?
If on a UNIX server you need to protect it with .htaccess.
Usually called "Protect" (or something like that) in your cPanel..
If you have difficulty ask your host for support...
Thank you for that information Jim, I am on a Unix server, can you possibly tell me how to run "poduct_listing_setup.php..

My osc only ask me for a login in and password if a completely close out my internet browsers and re-open them. That's typical. If you are always getting to the page without being asked for a login and password then there could be a problem..
First thing would be ask a trusted friend to try and access the page from a different IP, if he/she gets in. Then somehow the admin protection isn't setup..
Depending on the version RC2.2 uses a table in the SQL database to store user name and password.
MS 2 uses .htaccess to store the info..
(BEFORE DOING THIS SOMEBODY ELSE SHOULD CONFIRM OR TELL ME I'M WRONG I'M NOT 100% SURE).
For Rc2.2 I think I read that you can delete the entries inside the sql database and when you go to the admin section it prompts you to create a new user name and password..
For MS 2 .htaccess I think that is something your host has to change...
Thank you Im going to contact my host about this right now. Im using MS 2.2 I can access the admin from any computer it Im never asked for my login or pass word...
It's a PHP file..
Just put it in the right place on the server and access it with your browser like:.
If it's from a contribution follow the directions..
It will also start asking for the password again after the session times out...
Thank you. it is a contribution that Im using/trying to install and Im having all sorts of problems with it. (Products Listing Enhancements,Thumbnails & Manufacturer Heading v1.8) I can't seem to get this contribution to work at all..
Im just looking for a better way to display my products I want thumbnails not the normal vertical view..
I would like to know how do I logg into my Admin..
I just normally paste the address into the URL and it takes me directly in without having to use a login or password. Is this correct? or am I missing something?.
Or I can gain access through the control panel of my webhost..
I would say that this is occuring because your web browser is set to remember username and password for access to your Verisign site (this will be local to your machine). If you are using a shared computer I would disable this function in your web browser...
