Got a question... What is the best form of protein for a vegan Dukan Diet? Looking forward for any answer. Second question of mine... Just started program along with my Mother and Aunt. My Aunt and I found soup to be ok, but my mother was unable to eat it. We tried looking through the many postings already in place to find some about Black Bean Soup, but finally gave up so am asking directly.

Really need this for my mom. She was unable to finish the lunch today, and due to health reasons she has a more limited selection of the foods already available (reduced sodium). Need to see if we can provide her a low sodium meal that is palatable for her...

That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the right answer. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I discover an good answer. You should email the people at Dukan Diet as they probably can help you..

I don't know how this is for sodium or whether your mother would like it this way, but I add 1/2 cup canned tomatoes & 1/4 cup FF shredded cheddar cheese. For the tomatoes, I use Rotel (they have chilis in them & come in different varieties, some hotter than others) or the fire roasted tomatoes...

I like having it as a veggie dip or salad dressing. I make it with a bit less water and add some sour cream or yogourt...

Dice some carrots, celery, mushroom, broccoli, zucchini & cook til tender..

Add 1 1/4c LS chicken broth & heat thoroughly..

In the meantime, prepare soup to directions on package. When fully reconstituted, dump into the above mixture & heat for a few minutes on the stovetop..

Transfer to a soup/pasta bowl..

Optional: dollup of NF plain yogurt on top, right in the middle & sprinkle w/some parm cheese.

Make your large lunchtime salad (romaine, spinach, celery, carrots, mushrooms, zucchini, cucumber, shredded cabbage) minus salad dressing. Make your soup as directed. Dump the soup on top of the salad. Top with 1/4c FF shredded cheddar cheese (dairy/protein add)..

Mix just a little & enjoy!..

If you like spicy food, try this..

Add a sprinkle each of: ground chipotle, ground cumin, Thatcher's Cajun Seasoning..

It is delicioius - one of my favorite...

You could try adding a TBSP of FF sour cream to make it creamier and milder..

I like to add a little extra hot water and when it is ready to eat, either add some lemon or lime juice or some "true lime" or lemon to it. I really like it with the lime...

I love this soup. Add in some hot homemade salsa, at the end, also a little fat free sour cream on top and green onions sliced on top. I think it is really good!.

I also let it sit with the water in it, then microwave it for about a min. before adding in the above...

I always add a little more water and some of my favorite spices to all the soups. I find that the soup is too thick to be considered soup. I never microwave anything. It goes on the stove top. I think it tastes better because the seasonings cook through...

I just had the black bean tortilla soup yesterday, and actually liked it! Was a little thick, but otherwise it was good. I love refried beans and this reminded me of that..

Agreed. Added some salsa, ff cheddar cheese, and onion. It was essentially a burrito without the actual tortilla..

I add 1 TBS dried onion, a little extra boining water, and let it sit 15 minutes or longer. Then, I usually eat it with celery sticks, as a bean dip..

I also sometimes boil 2 BallPark FF turkey dogs, then cut them up in the prepared soup made as noted above, and eat it sort of like beans and franks..

To eat as a soup, add more water and top with FF sour cream or FF cheese and salsa...

I cut up like 2 or 3 slices of onion and sauteed it in a few drops of hot sauce, a little of the water from the cup, and half of a tomatoe..

The hot sauce I use is tapatio. It cooks away the spice and leave a bit of flavor, (f you want more spice, add a few drops after it's done cooking).

Then I added the water and boiled it. Once it was at a full boil, I added the powdered soup and turned off the heat. I brought it to work today for lunch, and oh my it is amazing..

I topped it with my dairy serving of string cheese. If I had salsa or FF sour cream I would use that too..

It would also be good with green onions, but it didnt need it..

P.s. I had the tacos yesterday and did the taco salad and that was FABULOUS ! I thought of combining them and eating half for lunch and half for dinner.... hmmmm..........

I just had a thought on this one since the soup is nice and thick, but maybe someone who has more of a clue than I do can share whether you can swap this way or not...I LOVE the vegetable fajita dinner, so maybe prepare both meals and combine them, then divide in 1/2, then have one fajita for lunch and one for dinner? I now really want to try this. Although you are not supposed to add 2 tortillas to eat, just one...I'll have to think about that one...

I add less water and use the mixture to make a bean burrito with a low cal/low carb tortilla (but you could also make lettuce wraps). I usually do it as a dinner and have to earn the tortilla by working out extra that day..

My husband is brasilian and they make something called feijoada... it's kind of like black bean stew, it's has black beans, beef, sausage, ears and feet..

It kind of reminded me of it. I could use my protien and throw in a piece of beef, too fool myself haha. I really like this one...
