First question I have is What is negative calorie Dukan Diet?give some foods under this category? Hoping for any response. 2nd question I got is.. This turned out great! I've always used the Insta Bake in the original recipe, but I think I like this one even better! I'll post the original one after the one using carbalose..

Breakfast bowl (Using carbalose flour).

Biscuit base:.

2 1/2 tbsp carbalose flour.

2 tsp Poly d.

1 tbsp buttermilk powder.

1/8 tsp baking soda.

1/4 tsp baking powder.

Pinch salt.

1 tsp butter flavor extract.

1 tsp egg beaters.

3-4 tbsp water.

1/4 c country gravy (I use McCormicks in the dry packet. 1 1/3 tbsp dry mix plus 1/4c water = a serving).

1 serving of sausage of choice, chopped.

1/4c cooked egg beaters.

Preheat oven or toaster oven to 400 degrees. Mix together the biscuit base ingredients. Pour into a large(16oz) single serve baking dish that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Top with about half of the gravy, followed by the sausage chopped up, then the cooked egg beaters and the remaining gravy. Bake for about 15 minutes or until done..

Serves 1 as your breakfast entree+protien..

NOTE:.

To make the gravy in one serving put 1 1/3 tbsp of the dry mix into a bowl, slowly add in the 1/4c cold water and stir well. Microwave for 30 seconds. Stir, microwave 30 seconds longer. I often thin mine out with a bit more water to make it stretch farther. Another note, in the past I have had great sucess with cooking the breakfast bowl in the microwave. I haven't tried it with this version but I would imagine it would work just fine!.

Original Version:.

Breakfast Bowl:.

2 1/2 tbsp Insta bake whole grain baking mix.

1 tsp egg beaters.

1-2 tbsp ff milk or buttermilk (I prefer buttermilk).

Mix in a small bowl. Do not over mix. Use a oven safe, single serving size dish. I use a round, 16oz corningware bowl. Drop by small spoonfuls into the bottom of the dish that has been sprayed with cooking spray..

Cup of Country Gravy(Curantly I use a powdered package mix that is really good made by McCormick that is sausage flavored and 45 cals a serving).

Cup of egg beaters that have been scrambled.

1 or 2 turkey sausage links(I use Shady Brook Farms because I love them!!) cooked and chopped or sliced into bite size pieces.(Optional).

Assemble the same as recipe above..

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some research and get back to you if I discover an decent answer. You should email the people at Dukan Diet as they probably could give you an answer..

I've been thinking on seeing if I can do up a decent pancake mix sub with the carbaolse too. I just have to be careful because when ever I do a new recipe of course I have to taste it!! To much tasting is not a good thing!! LOL!!!.

I don't make the breakfast bowl with the pancake mix myself. I just did that recipe for people who were asking for a version using it. I really like the baking mix, but I think I like this version even better to be honest! There's a few more ingredients in this one, but it's still super easy to make. I even cooked the egg beaters in the microwave!..

I hate you..

(Not really, I LOVE biscuits & gravy!!).

Now I have to find and buy the carbalose.....

OMG! Christina, you have a gift! This looks AWESOME!!! Going out today and getting the Buttermilk powder! Got the Carbalose flour and Poly d last week but haven't done anything with it yet....this will be the first!!!!.

A question on the Carbalose flour and Poly d.....once you opened the packages, do you store yours in glass cannisters? Just want to keep it fresh as long as possible!.

Thanks again for your creations! You are a true culinary artist!!..

Chris, your 'enemy' is back, and distributing one star ratings to all your posts this morning. Quite ridiculous, it is like kindergarden. You should see it as a badge of honor that someone goes out of their way to try to pull you down. We all know better.

Hey, one star rater! Get a grip on yourself!..

Maybe they don't like to cook or eat food that tastes great and is healthy. I wouldn't stroke their ego by paying them any attention. Those of us that like to cook find Christina pretty quick and realize what a treasure she is...

LMAO!!! You can use baking mix to make it too if you dont' have the carbalose, but this stuff is fun to play with! Ya know it's funny, I think I ate this recipe every morning for a good 2 years straight! Maybe more!! It was one of those foods that I really love and it kept me on track!! I got away from it when they came out with the pancake mix and I wanted to play with that, but after having it this morning I'm going to have to have it more often!!..

Good question!! I do in fact! I bought a large gallon container with a lid for the carbalose and I keep the poly d in a large glass mason jar. I bought a whole case of those jars at walmart and the plastic lids for them when I started doing my mixes and I had many things to keep sealed. They really work great and I can write on the lid what it is and what the stats are in the serving size that I use most so it's really easy to use that way. Then when I decide I want to try to come up with something new I just grab a bunch of the jars that I think I may need and line them up on the counter! It also makes it easier to see when I'm getting low!..

I noticed that!! LOL!! It's too funny! I was really hoping when Dukan Diet redid the board with the updates they were talking about, that the ratings would be gone. No such luck I sappose!! Ah well, I'm glad I don't have that much free time on my hands and that much spite in my heart ya know?!..

Tobi you're sweet! I dont' let it get to me. A while back I had the same thing happen and it used to bother me a bit, but in getting older I've realized that you can't please everybody all the time! Now I just think it's kinda sad that someone would go through the trouble to do something like that!.

I wonder if it makes them feel better? Who knows!..

Christina, PLEASE let me know when you sell packets of this mix. I need to have some but I want to try it before I buy all those ingredients! I work 2 jobs and have no time for all that, but maybe with the mix....

Looks SO amazing!..

Christina emal me @.

And I'll do some for you. I'm not taking any major orders right now since David comes home in a few weeks, but I'd be happy to put together a few of these for you as long as you don't mind no labels etc.. LOL!!..

And then there are those of us who never noticed someone could rate posts with stars until I read this - ha ha! I'm too busy just looking at what the posts are about..

Thanks for all the great recipes Christina...

Somebody does that?.

That's freakin' lame....

I went on netrition and that carbalose is pretty darn cheap! So is the poly d....

May just have to snag some! Mmm. Biscuits and gravy, how I've missed thee.....

I love the regular recipe so much, and if you like this one better, of course I'll try it!!.

I never tried microwaving the Insta-Bake one. How long do you nuke it for? I'll be glad to be the guinea pig to try it with this!..

I eat this every weekend. It is my treat. I don't have time to make it in the mornng to take to work, but on the weekend I crave it..

Love, love, love it!.

Oh, and Chris...just remember...mean people suck! The one star person has waaaayyyy too much time on their hands..

M..

OMG that sounds sooooo good Christina! I have to try this when I get my next shipment...

I have the carbalose flour *and* gravy mix...hmmm...I smell breakfast after my folks leave...I just wanted to say, I placed my Netrition order to get the carbalose flour and also ordered some "Carbquik" mix which is made of carbalose...was not impressed with that mix, as it is very high fat and all the recipes on the box use butter and cream a la Atkins. I had a miserable failure using it to make pancakes with skim milk. Stick to carbalose and Christina's tried and true recipes...

I think the other thing beside carbalose to get is the heat resistant starch (HRS). It is in portion 1/4 vs 3/4 to the carbalose, and does not add a weird taste, actually makes the carbalose taste more like regular flour and makes baked goods more airy and crisp..

The combination of carbalose + HRS is a winner !..

Ya know I'm not sure we're using the same thing. You keep saying "Heat" resistant starch, but the stuff I'm using doesn't say anything about heat at all, just resistant wheat starch. Here's the link for the one I use:.

Is that the same thing you have?..

Yes, it was resistant in some way.

(I use the same)...

Too funny....some people have nothing but negativity ive seen that on here and other sites more then once.....just jealousy.....boredum.....maybe not breastfed as a child....who knows lol.....all I know is christina you are great and glad you dont let losers get you down.....

Hi!.

I love biscuits and gravy..

What is Poly d..

Probably a silly question but what is "Poly D"?..

Not silly at all! I just bumped the thread that I did about it that will explain it better than I can!..

Which is healthier - the recipe with InstaBake or carbalose flour?..
