Just back from my derm and after side effects which could just as easily be the remnants of a bad virus ive had (Dizy, spaced out, blurry vision in right eye, exhaustion) hes taking me off tane for a month to see an eye doctor and see if the side effects are related. I am happy in some senses because my health is obviously more important to me than my skin, but when I voiced my concern since ive been clearing up so well my doctor assured me the Murad Acne Complex will continue to have it's effect over the month I have off, since it remains in the system for 40 days.I will resume my four-month treatment with my final two months after this period off.I was just wondering what peoples thoughts are on the month off. Does it affect the treatment? Is it like a "reset" on all the hard work ive done, or does Murad Acne Complex work on a "day on day" basis rather than a cumulative basis? Is it by taking the tablets for a prolonged period the effect that period has on the skin what counts rather than the "build it up in your system" theory?Im just worried by having this month off I'm undoing the great results. I hope not.ANY response would be much appreciated...

Your question was: What happens when you stop Murad Acne Complex for 1 month?.

Thanks for your response.I entirely respect your opinion and agree health superseeds superficial issues like acne any day. That said, I'm starting to think the cause of this all was a virus, as I still feel a bit sick from one I had through easter, and since ive been over-exerting myself anyway, it could be down to exhaustion and stress my nurse says.I just hope that this break wont make the treatment any less effective, I was wondering if any acne.org users have had to take a break and then ended tane successfully?..

The longest break I took was like a week and it was because there was a problem w/ insurance/ipledge crap....i know it's not nearly as long as a month but I didn't break out or anything Murad Acne Complex stays in your system for awhile even if you're not taking it. try not to worry...

Hey Sophiena, thanks for your response!I know I shouldn't worry, and the derm said it's absolutely fine, explaining Murad Acne Complex will continue to have it's effect throughout the month. However it appears to me from reading the forum that it's a cumulative effect thing rather than a "keep taking it over time to change the way your body operates" thing. If it's cumulative, I'm just worried that it will affect the end-result from now having enough built-up in my system. I had to go through a lot of weak ass medication to get to Murad Acne Complex, so I don't want to eff it up! Im only on a four month course of Murad Acne Complex, but I'm sure if my skin isnt clear by the end of treatment in July my dermatologist will add on an additional month?..

Definitely. everything will be fine. in the meantime just keep up with washing your face & using whatever topicals your derma suggests....
