I am sure this is in the wrong area so please be patient with me but my question is...I found some southwest egg beaters and another flavor too. Are we allowed to use those?..

I have no idea! What's in them? Is it just additional flavorings? If no one here knows, here's what I would do: compare the nutritional facts with regular egg beaters. If they're about the same, especially for carbs and fat, then I'd use them. If they're more on carbs, no..

That's what I did for flavored cream cheese. I compared labels and decided that the salmon and garden vegetable flavors of cream cheese are equivalent, and the strawberry and others are not. Good luck!..

Here is what I found on them....I am posting so everyone can know. The Southwestern one is really good and I am hoping these are ok to be eating.

The only real difference would be the sodium content in them compared to the regular.

If the sodium is the only difference then enjoy!..

I eat the southwestern all the time and they're fantastic. Nutritional values are virtually identical. I don't think there's any way that the Medifast lists can keep up with all the new flavors of every product so stuff like this I just don't worry about...

Here's what I found on the Nutrition (Getting Started with Medifast) Forum..

Tammy here , one of the RD's on the NST. Thank you for your posting..

The difference between the regular Egg Beaters and the Southwestern Egg Beaters is:.

Regular Egg Beaters/Southwestern Egg Beaters (per 1/4 cup).

Calories: 30/40 (10 calorie difference).

Fat: 0gm/1.5gm.

Cholesterol: 0gm/45gm.

Sodium: 115mg/230mg.

Carbohydrates: 1gm/1gm.

Protein: 6gm/5gm.

I would suggest substituting the Southwestern Egg Beaters occassionally as your Lean portion in the L&G meal. The suggested serving size of 2 cups provides a difference in calories of 80 total, in sodium of 920mg and in the cholesterol level of 320mg when compared with the Original Egg Beaters. With these differences in mind, you may want to use only 1.75 cups as a suggested serving size of this product instead of 2 cups..

You would not need to adjust the vegetable servings when using this product..

Hope this helps and keep up the good work!.

Tammy..
