My first question is What are the benefits of a soy protein Dukan Diet or a high protein Dukan Diet? Many thanks for any answer or 2. Another quick question... Looking at a cookie/square cookbook at work last night got me thinking. I'd love to make a date square! So I put together something that works well..

1/3 cup dry pancake mix (could use Dukan Diet pancake mix).

Low sugar - quaker brown sugar and cinnamon instant oatmeal (could use NS).

16 small dried pitted dates.

Splenda to taste.

Becel spray.

Put the dates and some water (maybe 1/4 cup) in a bowl and then microwave for about a minute. Stir well. It should be fairly thick. Add splenda to taste..

Mix the pancake mix and oatmeal together. Add some splenda to taste. I used brown sugar splenda(about a teaspoon). Spray 12 - 24 sprays on the dry ingredients and then enough water to make it crumbly and slightly doughy..

Spray a baking pan of your choosing with pam. Put half the oatmeal mixture on the bottom. Spread the date mixture on top and finishing the final layer with the rest of the oatmeal mixture..

Put it in the oven at 350 for about 15 mins..

Makes 2 servings..

1 serving would count as an Dukan Diet entree and 2 fruit..

If you use brown sugar splenda, remember to count that as a free food..

This is a base recipe, I"m sure others(Christina) could tinker with it. I'm not even sure if she has something like this on her site..

Also not sure if the becel sprays are needed..

I made this last night, put it in the fridge and enjoyed it cold this morning for breakfast...

Good question... I dunno what is the right answer. I'll do some research and get back to you if I bump into an decent answer. You should email the people at Dukan Diet as they probably can answer it..

Hmm, I felt hungrier after eating this, so use with caution, lol. I'm not sure if it's the dates or because I don't have a good baking mix to use right now so there is no great fiber content or because I'm finally getting out of my stall or what..

But anyways, thought I would warn. Maybe with the actual Dukan Diet products with the right protein/fiber combination...it can conquer the higher sugar level in the dates...

I've never worked with dates! I use figs alot, are they like figs? I mean I've seen them, but I've never baked or cooked with them..

I bet it would be good with prunes too. I know it's weird, but I love the orange and cherry essence prunes! You could easily remedy the fiber problem by adding in some Poly d. Lots of fiber, very few calories! I'd add in some protein too, that's probably alot of the reason you're getting hungry so soon. I always find if I eat a high protein breakfast that it just sticks with me forever!! I'll have to try this one, thanks for sharing!!!..

Yes, dates are like figs..

Hmm, I'm sure with the pancake mix, you can make lil cookies like fig newtons..

I've been wanting to get a few items you use in your recipes. I've just been putting it off, lol. But now that I'm mostly doing Dukan Diet on my own, I really need to get out there. I'm Canadian, so I'll have to do some research on comparable products...

I made a prune bar once, but they were kind of a pain in the butt to make. Tasted good though!.

I don't understand why they don't have the same products out there that we get here!! It's really frustrating!! With that said, I will be placing a netrition order soon so I can get you some stuff and mail it to you if you like. I don't know if you can order from them or not? I know shipping is rediculous to Canada, but I can also get PB2 at my store. I know in the past I sent a lady some dark hershey's cocoa because she couldn't get it there. Just let me know. I can also get insta bake at my commisarry...

I think eating 8 dates is probably the problem! Perhaps your dates are small enough, but an average-size date is 23 calories of pure sugar, so I wouldn't be able to handle 2 servings together without my blood sugar going sky-high. The recipe does sound scrumptious, though, and as you guys already said, adding in protein & fiber would counteract the sugar. I do love dates.....
