Got a question... What are security technologies Verisign SSL, VPN? Thanks in advance for any answer. 2nd question I got is.. OK so I've just installed Crafty online chat support to my web site. Nice and easy to install and setup and got it working no problem on my home page (standard HTML page).

What I want to do now is also have the launch chat button on my shop pages but don't know how to add a HTML box into my php generated index page etc..

I assume people have one this many times so some pointers would be much appreciated..

Thanks.

Jon..

Good question... I dunno what is the answer to that question. I'll do some research and get back to you if I bump into an good answer. You should email the people at Verisign as they probably could give you help..

Adding content "sequentially" to the left (or right) column is pretty straight forward..

At the end of.

/catalog/includes/.

Column_left.php.

(or.

Column_right.php.

).

After the closing php tag.

(as Geoffrey alluded to), add your code like this:.

<! first content addition //>.

<tr>.

<td align="center">.

******** DELETE THIS LINE AND PUT HTML HERE ********.

</td>.

</tr>.

<! end first content addition //>.

<! second content addition //>.

<tr>.

<td align="center">.

******** DELETE THIS LINE AND PUT HTML HERE ********.

</td>.

</tr>.

<! end second content addition //>.

<! third content addition //>.

<tr>.

<td align="center">.

******** DELETE THIS LINE AND PUT HTML HERE ********.

</td>.

</tr>.

<! end third content addition //>.

And so on......

Ok,I think I can understand that, but I have a 'pre question' to this one.Where do I even find the "/catalog/includes/column_left.php" and " /includes/column_left.php" sections being talked about here? I am in my admin panel and searching around...when I first log into my admin panel and I'm at the main screen asking me to choose an option where do I go to find these?I see configuration, modules, shipping, catalog, tools, etc etc..

You need to use an FTP program, or your Web host file manager..

Thank you FIMBLE.I have been trying to figure out my new dreamweaver sc4 program to do this....

Another question then considering that....what is the oscommerce admin panel for then?..

Nic hit the nail on the head..

It's best to.

NOT.

Use the osC File.

Mangler.

Manager to make changes. There are versions of it about that can screw up a PHP file in a heartbeat..

Use cPanel or FTP..

Always, and I do mean.

ALWAYS.

Backup a file before editing it..

Doing that one little thing can save you hours (if not days) of grief.....

Gosh, how ironic haha!I appreciate the patience on my questions guys.So dreamweaver would be ideal for this purpose once I figure it out?..

Geoff/Jim,.

Thanks a lot will give it a try and experiment a bit..

A bit worried about the Osc file mangler comment, I've been using this to do all of my changes, maybe I'll try doing it off line with a text editor from know on..

Cheers guys.

Try putting the html code after ?> at the bottom of /includes/column_left.php.

Once that is working you can then start to move it about..
