I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the answer to your question. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I find an useful answer. You should email the people at Verisign as they probably can help you..
Thanks Satish...Yes, that was how in tried to retrieve the variable, but it was empty...any other ideas?..
...even calling an echo() after setting the value was empty on the same page.....
If thats empty means..
1)You lost the session. or.
2)The variable was never saved in session..
3)Or in the next page the session was not started..
Check the data abse sessions table aainst the oscid You have to conclude on..
I discovered that the application_top was not being called corectly on that page...so I moved the code to set the session to an oscommerce page. I can get the variable from that page, but when I navigate to the home page(index.php)...the variable is lost again. any ideas on this? why am l losing the session? how do I force it to keep the session alive?..
How is the session ID carried to all pages thru get vaiable or thru cookies..
Just one of the two is used and on times a link hard code will not cary the oscid (if not stored in cookies) and will result in that..
I discovered that the problem was that I had to encode the variable in order to store it in a session.....so the variable was actually there, but couldn't be stored until I encoded(urlencode) it. This was after I moved the function to a different page. All works well now, and I hope this helps someone else. Thanks Satish for your help..appreciate it...
Does anyone have an answer to this problem that I've been battling with for three days:.
In my php file, try.php, I created a session variable.
$CartId = '222';.
But when I try to get $CartId on a different page, it appears empty. I also added.
To the pages but it made no difference..
Does anyone know how to set custom session variables and retrieve it some where else. Any help will be highly appreciated..
Thanks for your help !..
Check the value $_SESSION['CartId'] on the other page..
