First question I have is U need to be on Dukan Diet or you've been too lazy? Thanks for any comment. Another quick question... Now that it's getting warmer I'm craving pasta salad. I know the Nourish line used to have a vegetarian pasta salad (I think)..

Any ideas as to how to make one within the Dukan Diet guidelines that's vegetarian but has protein?..

That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the answer to that question. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I discover an good answer. You should email the people at Dukan Diet as they probably could give you an answer..

The Dukan Diet Nourish Vegetarian Pasta Salad was mostly just pasta, black olives and a thick vinaigrette. I used to love it with red wine vinegar and tuna mixed in! You could easily do this with a wheat pasta, chopped veggies you like, FF cheese and any FF salad dressing you like...

I don't concoct many things - just eat them the way they come. But could you take the pasta parmesean/broccoli and let it cool and then add it to a big salad of some sort?..

Thanks guys! I think I'm just going to have to play around with it, maybe using the fiber gourmet pasta to up the fiber...

Some people use the Tortellini (sp) lunch and make pasta salad with it. Check the thread where people post pictures of their food. Someone posted a picture of it...

When you have one of the chickens (grilled chicken breast or chicken patty) you could sub whole wheat pasta in place of a bun and make a very veggie-heavy pasta salad that way. You can use some rice wine vinegar and some FF mayo (or low fat, or full fat mayo if you want to use your fat) and make up your own kind of dressing for the pasta salad...

I love this question because I love my pasta salad! It is beach friendly, portable, keeps easily... Best summer food..

But - is it too carb heavy for a maintenance diet? I used to use colored rotini, ham, feta cheese, and peppers with low fat Italian dressing..

For my new life, I was thinking - colored rotini, chicken, low fat feta, extra peppers and maybe tomatos and fat free Italian dressing..

Does it make much of a difference, or must I switch to wheat pasta? Or do I have to have more veggies than pasta? For all of you who do the protein, carbs/fat stats in your head - any suggestions?..

I think whole wheat pasta has more protein (and fiber) than semolina pasta...

The fiber gourmet pasta is definitely a good way to go. I typically add cherry tomatoes, kalamata olives, arugula (!), a few pine nuts, and some blue cheese, mozzarella or goat cheese to my pasta salad, and a before eating it add in the balsamic vinaigrette. It has great texture, crunch and a lot of volume..

Here is a good recipe:.

Now I'm totally craving pasta salad & I have the perfect Italian dressing to use. I love it!.

2 tablespoons has 15 calories & 0 fat. The first 2 ingredients are water & vegetables!.

I haven't tried out any of the other flavors yet. Here's the website..

Yeah I decided to eat on plan instead of a flex day so I could make my pasta salad... I am going to head into the kitchen to make it now so I can make it nice and cold so it's ready to eat later.... mmmm I will let you know how it comes out..

I use the tortellini lunch entree as a base for pasta salad all the time during the summer..

- diced celery, little onion, relish, finely diced apple (only about 1/4 of an apple saved from another meal), chopped walnuts or almonds (if you are willing to use part of your fat serving), diced cucumber...dice some cold chicken breast if you want to use that as your protein add..

- the possibilities just go on & on as to what you can throw in there! And I usually plop the whole thing on top of a lettuce salad tossed with (my preference) a little Walden Farms 1000 Island which I think blends the best with the tomato flavor of the tortellini...

I made my pasta salad it's in the fridge but I forgot to buy onions so I have to go visit the new farmers market thats right out in front of my apt complex seriously the best edition to the strip mall we have down there hehe... imagine walking to a place where you can get fresh fruits and vegies! simply amazing!.

O well I need the onions anyway to finally make the onion rings everyone speaks so highly of..

Here is my masterpiece... eating it as I type mmmmm.....

Cut up some:.

Cherry tomatoes.

Green onion.

Sweet peppers.

Boil up:.

Approx 100 calories worth of whole wheat pasta (i know it's more than your supposed to have with the chicken salad but I was willing to sacrifice lol).

Then let the pasta cool in the fridge for a bit I gave mine approx 30 min then I added all the veggies and took the chicken salad out of the pouch and plopped it on top and stirred I gave it a little taste test and wasn't impressed yet so I took approx 2 tbsp of ff italian dressing and added it to the top and mixed it all up and tasted again mmm mmm good then I let it sit in the fridge for about 3 hours to get cold... Def satisfied my craving... it's kind of a variation of an old fave my mom used to make with tuna....

Just a quick note: I think if I wanted to have this at work I would cut all the veggies up and have them in a baggy and the pasta in a seperate baggy and then of course the Dukan Diet chicken salad in it's pouch and I would mix it up about 3 hours before lunch time because I think if I left it in there overnight the veggies would not be as crisp.....

Your very welcome it was SOOOOOO yummy and I am SOOOOO full just like when I have real pasta salad... would have been really good if I had some FF hot dogs as my protein on the side but I am out of them.....

Another trick is to make a pad thai/curried noodle using the Fettucini Alfredo as a base. Tasty hot or cold...
