Got a quick question: Type of peanut butter best for heart patient on low-fat Dukan Diet? Thanks in advance for any answer. 2nd question I got is.. Does anyone out there have any suggestions to get rid of the fish taste in the lunches, mainly the parm broccoli, potatoes, and fett alfredo as soon as the water hits it I loose my appetite. Any suggestions would be helpful...

I've only had a problem with the chick noodle soup. I understand what your saying I can't even open one anymore after that taste.........

I don't taste any fish, but then again, I add stuff to all those meals see my Lunch file for suggestions.

I also think those taste awful, but not like fish. I have tried so many ways to improve it. But no luck yet. Worse part I still have a few of them in by cabinet to eat. Ewwww...

Yes, I have not enjoyed any of the meals you add water to in the cup. Uggg. I'd rather eat a granola bar or the microwave soups...

Maybe try adding garlic powder? Garlic is a pretty strong flavor. I use it in almost everything...

Chicken Noodle soup is the worst with the fish smell and taste to me. Can't stand it! I do add-in to almost all the foods to avoid the odd tastes...

Nothing tastes like fish to me, yeah they put omega 3 in it but it may just be in your head, did you read the ingredients? I did once and never will again as I can no longer eat the tortilla soup...

I can only eat the chicken noodle soup at home. I can't eat it straight from the microwave at work..

I add 1/2 cup chicken broth, a dash of curry powder and some turkey or chicken (deli slices or left overs from hubby's dinner.).

The chicken broth does wonders. (I also add chicken broth to the tertilini - could not enjoy that one!)..

I learned this, too. Now I don't read the ingredient list, just check for sugar alcohols in the nutrition section (I can't eat these - they are extreme gas producers)...

I love anything dried and in a boyfriend thinks I'm nuts...but yummmmm! I love dry food.....My favorite add in is onion powder, lemon pepper, and Mrs. dash Southwest Chipotle which I put on everything including my dinner favorites.....Fett. chicken and the best is 3 Cheese Pasta....What a treat!!!!!I put in a LC garlic and herb..spinach, mushrooms and enjoy it is truly comfort food........

Yes it's in our heads but it's called smelling.......If you were to look on the container it says..FISH.....just a little too much of it...

Yep, there is fish oil in the stuff. I can taste it too but it doesn't bother me. Hmmm...What spice counteracts a fish taste...Maybe curry? Hmmmmm....

I've read that ginger an spring onion also do the trick...Perhaps even chili flakes....

Not sure how these would "mix" with the types of foods we have here. Try doctoring things up..

I don't use water in my fettuccini. I use fat free low sodium chicken broth. It tastes great! I also use that in the parm brocc too. I let it stand 11 minutes with a plate and cup on top to keep the heat in. Then I put it in a bowl with an ounce of chopped up cooked chicken breast and some broccoli or cauliflower to it, mix it all up, and it tastes fine. If you like, you could add a teaspoon of fat free parmesan cheese for extra flavor...

I've read about the "fish smell/taste" on other boards as well, but I've never tasted or smelled it not even in the chicken noodle soup. I, too, use add-ins to improve the flavor and/or texture like adding FF/LS chicken broth to soups (many are just too thick for my taste), garlic, scallions, chili flakes, etc. Try the stronger flavored add-ins and it might help..

Lsbblack, thanks for the idea bout the parm brocc. Bet it would be good with spinach, too...

Today I had the pasta parmesan with broccoli for lunch and I didn't taste fish at all (and I LOATHE anything that lives in water)! I sauteed some onion, broccoli, spinach, and a little garlic in a pan with salt and pepper, made the pasta as directed, and poured it over the veggies. Then I topped it with some FF cheese and microwaved it for a minute...NS lunch, two veggies, and a dairy, yum!..

I grossed myself out when I read the ingredients on some of the items- the fish- hate fish with a passion..

I think we psych ourselves out when we read the fish ingredients. I have never noticed a fish aroma or taste..

So I keep on eating my favorite meals.....

I hate the taste or smell of fish. I am supposed to take fish oil pills to help lower my cholesterol, and I can't do it because of the aftertaste..

I actually love the fettucini alfredo, pasta parm with broccoli, and chicken soup. They have never tasted fishy to me..

A couple of the other lunches do though. I also made the mistake of looking at the ingredients once. I will never do that again!..

Order them from the vegetarian plan. Tell Dukan Diet you have a fish allergy. I noticed a fishy taste from the first spoonful, before even reading the ingredients. It never occured to me that something vegetarian would contain fish..

Luckily they now have a fish-free option...

I didn't notice a fishy taste before but now that you mention it, I guess it kida does! I can't stand any of the meals that have chicken in them. It reminds me of tuna - the way it tastes! I actually love the pasta parmesan with broccoli and the fettucini alfredo but can't stand the chicken noodle soup!..
