I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the answer to your question. I'll do some research and get back to you if I find an useful answer. You should email the people at Verisign as they probably could give you an answer..
Hi and thanks.
I just tested the Verisign site and I get the following otpion.
Here is the error message::.
Error message :: The first four digits of the number entered are: <br>If that number is correct, we do not accept that type of credit card.<br>If it is wrong, please try again..
Previusly, they were storing the CC# in a database. I was using the same approach, but implementing a secure Verisign certificate through godaddy and the the security with OSCommerce..
Am I overlooking something?.
What should I do?.
This happens in "Payment Information" if that helps any..
I would find the contribution for cc processing and reinstall it after uninstall the current module. Have you tried this?..
Thanks for the info. I am unfamiliar with the "contribution for cc processing." As well uninstalling and reinstalling. Can you please give me more information?.
Go to: Administration Panel->Payment Modules->Find active credit card processor..
There may be a new update for your processor if so follow the install instructions for the contribution..
What payment module are you using?..
Hi, I'm waiting for the admin username and password. By the way, we were just storing the orders and CC#'s in a database and deleting them after they are processed. Do I need a credit card processor if I'm using SSL, or can I use the database?.
I know databases aren't as secure, but I don't think the client wants to pay for processing..
I don't think we are connecting here. SSL secures the transfer of information from a browser to a server by encrypting it..
This question is unrelated to credit card processing or securing information with ssl. You can use the database store information, but it is completely inadvisable. Processing should be part of any business plan for an online store in my opinion. If customers knew their information was being stored they may not be too pleased..
Before I can help you further you will need to get information from the admin panel on what credit card processing module they have enabled, etc...
I have the "Credit Card" Module installed. I don't believe I have activated any other module. When I test it, I get the following error::.
" The first four digits of the number entered are: <br>If that number is correct, we do not accept that type of credit card.<br>If it is wrong, please try again.".
What am I doing wrong? I know the credit card is good..
Do you have the web address, maybe if we could physically see what happening we could help mate...
I have deactivated the web site, as I found the answer in the module forums. The Credit Card module supposedly does not work with the latest version of OS Commerce, so we need a 3rd party credit card processor. I am reviewing the possible solutions now..
Thanks for the assistance..
Hello, I just upgraded a Verisign site to be secure (i.e. using SSL) But unfortunately, the client just contacted me, after not recieving orders for over a month, and said that her credit card will not work on the site..
Does anyone have any info on this? I need a link or some sort of direction..
Need more info. What credit card processing are you using? Can you place orders on the site? Does it error out on checkout_payment.php or checkout_process.php?..
