My question is Tips for losing weight? I'm already doing Nutrisystem...just looking for more tips? Thanks for any comment. Another question... Perhaps I'm getting ahead of myself here, but my DH asked me about it this morning so it got me thinking. What happens when I reach goal and I have to go back to eating my old food? The reason why I feel like Nutrisystem is working for me is because it's a no brainer and I feel full all the time. Will I be able to go back to eating regular food and keep my portions in control and still feel full without all the good stuff Nutrisystem adds?.

I don't really remember reading or knowing what the process is for going off program???.

My plan, in my head, was to keep up with the excercising and do my best to continue to make healthy food choices. I wanted to have a few Nutrisystem items on hand to help me when I'm too "busy" which is when I tend to make the worst choices. I figured that was all I would need to maintain the loss?..

That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the answer to that question. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I discover an anything. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably can help you..

I flex which means some days I useNutrisystemfoods and then other days I use food that meetsNutrisystemguidelines. When you flex, you begin to learn the tools to maintain because you are learning to use appropriate foods in appropriate sizes..

When you reach the goal, you may eat a few more calories but not more than that required to maintain your weight. You will still exercise. Studies of those who successfully maintained show that they weigh often when at goal to keep on track, but that they basically followed the same healthy eating pattern established when they lost weight. They might have an occasional dessert but they don't have one everyday...

I've realized that theNutrisystemfood is not "magic" food and when I hit maintenance I will eat in a similar way. I'm going to contact a counselor and get a plan as a guide for maintenance and for weight loss if I go a few pounds over..

I will eat pizza with my family, etc. but my plate will have 1 piece surrounded by a bunch of veggies. I will still know about how many calories I'm eating and I'll still weigh in once a week..

I was afraid of being off of NS, but now I feel ready!.

Good luck!..

I"m not quite there yet, but have started flexing to prepare myself. I am eating myNutrisystemfoods mostly, but am cooking or eating out for about 1/4 of my meals. The other posters are right. Portions are smaller than I would have before, but I'm still eating 5-6 times a day. When I cook, the ingredients that go into the dish are altered somewhat..

I think I"ve seen others talk about how, once they meet goal, they start adding in a little bit more food each day until they hit that point where they stop losing. I can't wait until I get to find out how it all works for sure!..

I haven't gone back to "eating my regular food."Nutrisystemwas and continues to be a lifestyle choice for me. I eat off-plan occasionally, but I still make choices that conform toNutrisystemguidelines. The choices I was making before I startedNutrisystemnot only caused me to gain weight, but I also suffered from regular digestive issues. Since starting NS, those problems disappeared. I'll eat this way for the rest of my life, with or withoutNutrisystemfoods, to avoid feeing that way again...

How often would everyone say you make food compared to eat ns food? I'm getting closer and starting to wonder..

I never had a goal...just a target that I will shoot at for the rest of my life..

Other than the first few weeks, I rarely ate onlyNutrisystemfoods. I enjoyed learning how to make my own recipes/meals fit the healthierNutrisystemstats.

Now that I'm really close to where I want to be weight-wise, I probably only eatNutrisystemdinners once or twice a week, breakfasts rarely (because they're the easiest for me to fix on my own), and lunches about four or five times a week (because I eat in my car during the work week, and theNutrisystembars are tasty and convenient)...

Ohh ok thank you! I'm scared to make my own food, when I have tried I always ended up gaining, so I must be doing something wrong, but I bought the cookbook which will hopefully help. and I agree I LOVE the lunch bars!!..
