I want to make some of the Medifast shake recipes which require sugar free syrup. However, I can't find any that have low enough calories and carbohydrates to actually equal the nutrition facts mentioned. Can anyone help me with this? What sugar free syrup do you use, if any?.

What we're talking about here is a flavoring type of syrup, like you would add to coffee drinks like the stuff coffee bars squirt in their frappuccinos and mochas. (NOT sugar free Hershey's or Smucker's if you want a syrup like that, look for Walden Farms chocolate syrup)..

Torani is a brand that Walmart and other grocery stores carry. Target stocks the Archer Farms brand. DaVinci is another brand that I've only found at Marshall's but you can order it online. There's another brand I found once called Arista or Artista or something like that. Or you can buy from Starbucks..

All of these have 0 cals and 0 carbs per 2 Tablespoons. They come in bottles that look kinda like wine bottles, and usually are stocked near the coffees. Make sure you read the label and pick up the sugar-free variety, since they also make ones with sugar..

Hope this helps and best wishes on your search!..

Thank you SOOO much. I was so excited after reading this, I went to the 24 hr Walmart close by and bought 4 different kinds of Torani. I was so excited!.

I have another (probably stupid) question. Each of these recipes has about 2 tbsp of sugar free syrup involved. So, at most I could have 3/day? I doubt I'd have that many but I just want to make sure I'm clear...

They do count as a condiment so yes, you can use up to 3 a day but then no other condiments if you use all three. They do count as 1 carb if you're close on carbs for the day and need to carb count...

I find that I can cut down the SF syrup in most Medifast recipes. I do not like things really, really sweet, anyway. So, my 3 daily condiments go farther!.

I don't get to Whole Foods often, so I can't answer. But I do know that our locally-owned health food store does NOT carry sugar-free products, and doesn't really want to unless it's something that's naturally sugar-free anyway! LOL..

I really love the Target brand - Archer Farms - vanilla sf syrup. Also, you can get a HUGE selection of sugarfree flavors online from both Torani and DaVinci...
