Your question was: Should I switch Nutrisystem foods?.
It's not only food. I think my body is getting used to my exercise regime as well...
I wouldn't worry about it. You'll switch when it seems like it makes sense. I'm like you, I like my routines.
I almost always eat the same breakfast. In winter it's oatmeal, in summer it's granola. I add yogurt and peaches.
At lunch I almost always have a lettuce and tomato salad.
At dinner I almost always have a lettuce and tomato salad with cucumbers! (I'm so experimental!!).
Just keep to the plan. It might be fun to try new veggies, but you don't have to. An example - on beef stew night, instead of a side of beans, add cooked carrots and chopped tomato to the stew for two veggie servings. Just to try something different...
I've heard from other gym go-ers, you should change up your routine. When I go to the gym my regimen stays the same as well. Your body get so used to the same old thing that your really not working hard anymore at it.
I copied the chicken fajita recipe so I'm super pumped to try that tongiht. The next time I go food shopping I'll make sure to throw at least 1 frut and veggie in my cart that I normally wouldn't eat. Brussels Sprouts are a definite NO though, lol...
I tend to also be a creature of habit, but since I've been on this (only week 3 now) I've tried some new things that I really like. Spagetti squash for one. Kiwi that I haven't had in a while.
Yes- your body DOES get used to the same exercise routine. I am a runner and that's why I;m on Nutrisystem because my body got very used to me doing the same thing & was no longer responding in the same way.
Good luck on NS!.
Jeanie..
You will probably get many posters saying you need variety in your food. Some to keep you from boredom and some for the different nutrients. I am a creature of habit as well. I like the same foods all the time, knowing when and what I am going to eat keeps me from thinking about it all the time and worrying what is next...
Hi iam also a runner, how many miles do you run a week and do you add cals. Its so true that even with running you still have to watch you calories, it's not a liscense to eat,..
