Your question was: Replacement for the salads on Nutrisystem?.
I wore out on salads too ... and converted to vegetables ... love, love broccoli, asparagus, squash ... yum ... try steamed veggies for a while!.
According to Dietitian_NS:.
~ you can have a 1 C raw veggies or C cooked veggies instead of a salad..
~ you can have cup low sodium V-8 or tomato juice..
Greetings,.
Today is day 28 for me. Unfortunately, I couldn't access the member only area until a couple of days ago..
I try to vary what I put on my salads. Sometimes I'll use a hard boiled egg or oz of salmon (I get the salmon from Schwans) in lieu of a protien servings. However, more frequently I use (artichoke or beets or garbanzo beans) and (sugar or snow peas). I substitue the one dinner veggie and put them both the lunch and dinner salad (1/2 the dinner veggie quantity is a lot on one salad)..
Try differnet kinds of sprouts. If your store doens't have good variety try growing your own. Plus, I love radishes and put them on every salad...
I spoke with a counselor... you can use 1 cup of V8 Fusion, preferably the light version, into your lunch/dinner menus. It counts as 1 fruit and 1 salad or veggie serving. Hope this helps! ~ Tanya..
I was sick of salads after 2 days and love the v8....no preparation...hate to cook..
I blend frozen fruit with my morning ff yogurt and crushed ice and it tastes like ice cream since I am not a huge fruit lover either, but this is very good...
I never eat salads because I have lunch at my desk & they're too hard/messy to eat while I'm working. I bring cherry tomatoes, cucumbers marinated in rice vinegar with green onions, coleslaw & sometimes steamed veggies - the individual packets of brussel sprouts are incredibly good. Depending on the lunch, sometimes I bring canned diced tomatoes & mix the Nutrisystem entree in with them. Although it's a dinner entree, you can have the beef stew for lunch if you don't add the extra protein & that's really good with the tomatoes...
Yeah. Some days, I can hardly face and salad, and some days it's OK. I make cold soups, especially since summer is roaring toward us. If you go to my blog, I have several cold soup recipes on it and some other summer recipes. I've also started a thread called nickystripe's BRAY corner. I've put a couple of recipes on it, too...
