That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the right answer. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I discover an decent answer. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably know..
Join a challenge!!! They have very supportive people and help you keep yourself on track. It helps me stay accountable for being 100% every day. And just believe in yourself. You have already taken all the right steps by going to the effort to start NS. And check out the recipe forum to keep the food from getting "old or boring". I am currently in the ringing the new year, new you challenge.
I am also in the be mine skinny valentine challenge. I feel that personally they really help, whether you are having a good day, bad day, cheated, or just need an idea, or to have someone to express frustration too. The boards and forums are great. This is my second time onNutrisystemand it really works. I have lost 4 pounds in just under 2 weeks..
<I am saying this calmly and nicely> The plan wont fail, you may if you dont follow it but the plan is built on solid principles..
My suggestions would be....
1. follow the plan exactly for the first 2 months at least...LOG all your food and water and do not put anything in your mouth thats not on plan..
B. spend as much free time as possible here, whether that be lurking and reading or posting...I have found that to be critcal for both long term success as well as accountibility in the early stages while you are learning what you have been doing inncorrectly in your past life..
3. spend time educating yourself about your relationship with food and what your body REALLY needs...its sad to say but most people know more about sitcoms than they do about how their body works and the role of food..
D. develope a mindset that food is merely fuel for your body, NOT a source of pleasure in your life..
5. Join a group of people here with similar interests...whether that be a challenge or just a thread that discusses all thingsNutrisystemas well as just having fun..
F. NEVER give up....as long as you dont give up, you can never fail...when you have a setback you have to get back up, brush yourself off and start over again...yesterday is ancient history, tomorrow is a mystery...the only thing that REALLY counts is what you do today...
Reread the two posts above. They are both great..
Hang out here. Everyone is doing the same plan and the tips and suggestions and support are fantastic!!!.
The plan works. The only failure is if you don't follow it. Join in!!!!! You are going to LOVE IT!!..
Great post, Mark..
Annie - I see that you have over 100lbs to lose. I have found this thread to be full of motivation and people that can relate to the trials of having 100lbs or more to lose:.

It has been a wonderful support group for me..
These boards! They're great at keeping you motivated. Also, set your mind set to success!!..
Some great posts!.
You have to believe that you will succeed. You have to understand that it may not be smooth sailing all the time. Some people stall at times. This is often a time that the "failure" switch turns on. If you are aware that this is the body's way of adjusting and that is why you are not losing despite being on plan, then you will not permit the "failure switch" to be turned on. If you slip at a meal, etc., you don't see it as a failure; you see it as a learning experience to help you be stronger at the next source of temptation or stressor..
Believe in yourself; it all begins in your mind. Your intellectual and emotional sides of your mind said that this is the time to do something andNutrisystemwas the tool. Now, you use your mind each morning to reinforce that you are worth the program and commit yourself to following it for that 24 hours. At the end of the day, you will recognize your successes. You train yourself to think successfully..
You can do it!..
All of this is great advice. I would just add that you need to approach this as a lifestyle, not a diet. You are changing your way of eating, thinking, doing forever and this is a tool to get it done. The word "diet" implies a beginning and an ending, but lifestyle is forever! And, eat to live, don't live to eat!..
Agree with all!.
When you weigh ( recommend once a week) and measure- you will stay motivated. Just wait! It is wayyyyy cooool.
And even later if you do not lose much, keep checking the measuring tape!.
Failure is a mindset- get rid of it..
Good luck kiddo-..
Great advice above. Have you analyzed why you failed in the past? The answers can lead you to better decisions and ultimate success. You can do it!..
