Hi all. Thought this would be a good place to ask:.

For the longest time, I've been looking into registering (that's my name) so I can port my current site, to it... but the domain name has been tied up for ages, by someone (from France, according to WhoIs) who apparently has no use for it that I can tell. I would think that maybe they're holding it until someone makes an offer to buy it, but I don't see any way to contact them. On WhoIs, their email is a bunch of jumble.

Any ideas? Thanks. Really annoying.. I don't know what to do about this...

First name of owner is Dario too I doubt he will sell.

Or if the right offer comes try that long garbled email address it's's anti-spam email but it works too.

Or contact support

The owner's name is Dario. He probably wants it for himself at some point. I hired a PI one time to find a guy that had an incorrect address, email, and phone in the whois database. He had registered the name for ten years and his business went under within the first year. Found the guy, paid the PI $1,000 and paid the owner of the domain $1,000. I waited nearly two years for it praying the owner would update his whois contact info.

You just have to pursue these things if it is that important to you. Would be great to own your name as a domain. Hard for me though, being Dave.

Best wishes with your quest...

Hmm, I see... didn't realize that. Thanks a lot.

Hey, wait a minute; I'll have to sue him for infringing on my most Dario name. I'm the only Dario around these parts...

Fyi: email sent to protected email address will arrive to the real email of the owner

Hopefully you will the domain eventually. Especially if he isn't using it >< I am not sure about my own name.... *checks* yay! Seems like there is nothing on it. However I don't know if it's being held by someone. But have your own domain "name" would be great...

I don't know whether to take this seriously or not. But from the smiley you've.

Used for your second paragraph, I guess you're serious then?.

Otherwise, have a go. No guarantees, of course...

Lol, no... why would I sue someone over using my most Dario name?.

Suing is so... tame...

Suing is lame.

If he beat you to a name, he beat you to a name...

How do you know? Just because a domain isn't being "used" for a website doesn't mean it isn't being used for email. I purchased a domain of my inlaws surname that has no real website except a parking page, but I have them set up to use it for personal email only. Domains have uses beyond www such as email, ftp, private intranets, etc...
