My question is Pros and cons about Nutrisystem? Thanks in advance for any answer. Another question on my mind: Hello. Today is day one for me and I had a question. Is exercise crucial to losing on this plan? I ask because I am having foot surgery on the 28th and was told by a Nutrisystem rep that I will lose anyway. It seems absurd to me but maybe you all can tell me from experience? Also, I was told that women lose on ave 10 lbs a month. Would you say this was accurate? So far I am excited to be doing this and eating so much healthier, not to mention how easy it makes my life! I started with a goal of 125 but after reading some posts, I am hopeful of reaching 120! Any words of wisdom are appreciated...

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the right answer. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I find an answer. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably could assist you..

As usual, I agree with Mary!.

Please don't get too hung up on the "10 lbs in one month" statement because you don't have a lot to lose. I have lost approximately 12 lbs in 12 weeks and I workout regularly at a very intense level. I am happy with this average of 1 pound per week..

I hope you have a speedy recovery and can begin an exercise program thereafter. Exercise is mandatory for optimal health..

PS - Mary and I have both lowered our goal weights after initial success. Mine was originally 135, but now I am striving for a "2" as the middle number which I have not seen since law school (1993)...

I have lost weight without exercise, or with minimal exercise. You may end up losing on the slower side, but it's still possible. Just follow the plan to a T. Maybe lift some hand weights while you're sitting down, get some physical exercise in there! Good luck with your surgery...

Thank you all very much. I am not expecting 10lbs in a month, I was just thrown back by that. I have lost weight after my children were born and I exercised 6 hours a week and consumed no more that 1400 cals a day. It was HARD. I am just surprised that this program says that I cuold lose 10lbs in a month and exercising is not part of the program. I am completely on board and waiting to see what happens for me! ANY loss will be welcome for sure.

I love that the program foods are very healthy and based on eating a lot of veggies! Eating less has never been an issue for me, but perhaps I have not been eating the right foods which will fuel my loss...

I know exercise is important...that said, I am almost half way to my goal weight, and I have not really started to exercise. I know I need toI just hate it though. I'm going to get out and ride my bike and walk as the weather warms up. I know I'll feel better.Nutrisystemis a food based weight loss program. If you stick to it, you will lose.

Because of all that I have learned about nutrition and food, I made better choicesand I even lost weight over the holidays! I am motivated too, just as you are, and I know that the day will come when I will wake up and say "today is the day I'm going to exercise." Best wishes with your surgery!..

I lost all my weight, and kept it off, without any exercise. I have now started exercising (nothing too strenuous - Leslie Sansone videos) to tone and to keep my Dr from lecturing me on how my bones will turn to jello if I don't exercise. I can already see the benefits of exercise re: toning, BTW...

Good for you Sally!! The benefits of exercise go way beyond weight loss/maintenance, and NO ONE wants brittle bones. Weight bearing exercise is one of the best things you can do.
