Need help quick! OK I am going to a restaurant that's vegan/veggie in a few minutes. It's not a chain so it has no nutirition info online. So...I looked at their menu and narrowed it down to three choices: tofu skewer with veggies, veggie burger (i would remove hte bun), or else a garden roll, which it says is wrapped in rice paper which I guess wouldn't be too bad. I'm leaning towards tofu as the safest bet but wanted your opinion. ty..

I think you're right, the Tofu sounds like the best option. You'd be surprised how much the garden rolls can pack calories and with the burger bun comes temptation...

Tofu would be good. you can have them put any glaze or sauce on the side. just find out what firmness of tofu they're using: depending on how firm it is you can have more or less in ounces. if you're worried, have half there and package the other half then go home with any info you got on the food and weigh it. Eat whatever extra you need to eat to get the right amount of ounces in. good luck and happy eats!..

Veggie burgers will frequently have quite a bit of rice in them. Although I think it's sounds awful and I'm not sure that I wouldn't rather starve, I agree that the tofu skewers are your best option..

Thanks everyone I actually ended up not eating there b/c the food didn't look so good. I had 3 scrambled eggs when I got home instead (scrambled in some tomatoes too).

So as not to start a whole new thread, I have an eggs question. So, tonight I had 3 eggs, and it says we can only do that once/week. But is it OK to say, eat 2 eggs/day the rest of the week, and round it out with a remaining portion of lean? I know eggs are high in cholesterol and don't want to overdo it, but I sure love them (hate eggbeaters tho)...

Bumping to see if anyone has an answer to my eggs question. Does anyone else eat eggs multiple days of the week?..

I've assume 3 per week total. You could always ask Nutrisystem for a clarification. I'm not an eggbeaters fan either, but I do eat them very often. I bake omelettes w/ .5c egg beaters and mix it with morningstar farms sausage crumbles and veggies. Makes it tolerable, good even!..

Whirled: I would pose this question to the nutritionists. They are so thorough in their answers and it's not just a guess...whenever I have a question this specific, I ask them. Have you ever tried mixing real egg with EB? I do that and it really helps the EB...
