First question I have is Nutrisystem, Slimming World and Lighter Life? Looking forward for any comment. Another question... After almost two weeks of 100% days, this morning I started my day with a handful of Cheetos and a chocolate chip cookie. Not catastrophic, but probably at least 300 calories..

I think I have myself under control, and I know not to use it as an excuse to just eat bad all day. My question is, should I go ahead and eat all my Nutrisystem food today or try to leave something out? I know I shouldn't miss any nutrients. I'm thinking my best bet is to eat everything and just try to get in some exercise but just curious what y'all would do..

(And I know I shouldn't have that stuff in the house in the first place! Just haven't got the husband and kids fully trained yet.)..

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the answer to your question. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I find an good answer. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably can answer it..

You're human ... just move on. If you have been exercising, maybe add a bit more. If anything, it will make you feel better and you will have worked off those cheetos!..

Mary, yep, as long as we don't acccept it as "well, I can't help it" or "it's just the way I am, ha ha!" But moving on/no guilt is the key!..

Like everyone has said, don't sweat it and beat yourself up over one small slip up. Temptations will always be out there and around you and it is a process to learn to change your behavior to not to give into to them. It is hard at first, but can be done...

Here is my take on the "all or nothing" dieting mindset and why it doesn't make sense:.

If you broke one finger, would you think "Well, I'm ruined now, might as well break the other 9!".

If you dented a fender on your car, would you think "Well, I might as well ram this sucker into a brick wall, head on, and total it, since it is ruined already!".

Somehow, I don't think so..

I think you would take care of the finger, get the dent repaired, and go on with your life...

Thanks y'all. I really am not beating myself up. My intent with the post was really to see if it's more important to get in all your nutrients or to stay within the total calories. Normally my slipups are at night so I don't have the option of planning the rest of the day's calories! Tomorrow is another day!..

I would also like to know the answer to that question. What is the practical answer, for weight loss purposes, to adjusting your food intake for the day when you slip up...

The "practical" answer is this:.

You don't leave out any part of your plan. You could, however, choose those entrees and add-ins with less calories for the rest of the day..

But, don't leave out any meals, snacks or nutrients..

And, drink an extra ocean of water...

You don't adjust anyting. you just get back on plan. There's no formula or anyting else. The OP had an off plan breakfast so big deal. learn from it and go on to the next scheduled meal. Do not skip anything. Life goes on and just get back on the plan with your next scheduled meal and move on...

Here is another "practical" answer:.

For the Dairy/Proteins for the rest of the day, choose LEAN PROTEINS instead of Dairy. You will get your protein with minimal calories...
