That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the right answer. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I bump into an useful answer. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably could answer your Nutrisystem question..
I feel your pain! I am used to enjoying a glass of wine at least a few nights a week. I have given that up! I am only on week two but we joke that our wine fridge has never been so full! LOL.
I allow myself a glass when we're out for dinner (tongiht) but that's it and only if I've excercised it away during the day. We no longer order a bottle like we used to ; ) This is big step for me so I see it as an accomplishment...
1/3 of a skinny margarita will not affect your weight loss. Don't worry about it this time, just figure out a way to avoid alcohol or come to terms that your weight loss will be slower than without alcohol. If you are truly okay with slower progress, then continue with the alcohol. It's really that simple and not a big deal. Life is too short not to enjoy things in moderation...
If it was only 50 calories, then that is how much it will slow your progress. By itself, alcohol is no different than any other off plan sugar you put into your body. The problems with alcohol are that the calories are sneaky, lots of drinks have a deceptively large number of calories, and that when you drink you may not be able to pass on other food that is around..
I haven't given up wine, but have decreased my consumption. This is a lifestyle change. My lifestyle includes wine. I want to learn how to control my weight while living my life. If I don't learn how to make this work for my lifestyle, I'm afraid it won't last. If I've slowed my weight loss, then OK, particularly if during that process I figure out how to control my weight for the long haul.
).
So hang in there. You haven't destroyed your chances. Just be careful and make it work for you...
I enjoy my cocktail hour and never completely cut it out, though I cut down quite a bit. I lost 25 pounds in 5 months..
Be smart - the more you can avoid useless calories, the better your weight loss results, but it's your life and you can make smart choices about it. Don't stress over a night out with friends, just do it right...
I would say just make sure you're not leaving out other foods in order to fit the alcohol in, you know?..
Don't beat yourself up. All in all, you didn't do too bad. I occasionally have a drink, but I am much more careful in my choices than I used to be. This means that when I do drink, I don't drink much and I make sure I use low / no calorie mixers. Simple changes like swapping out club soda for tonic cuts your calories tremendously. But any extra empty calories like alcohol will slow down your weight loss so I wouldn't drink often...
