I have finally gotten to the point of a new mindset on MF. I started Medifast 9 months ago... wow, I cannot believe it has been that long! I try to keep a very wide variety of Medifast foods on hand so I don't get bored, but as a consequence I have quite a few boxes of things I am not terribly fond of. I also have boxes of stuff that always sit and wait to be eaten because I would always rather eat hot cocoa, pudding, brownies, bars, and pretzels.

So here's where a new mindset comes in. I decided I am going to be DONE with losing weight by spring. Instead of only eating my favorites I am going to start finishing off all the stuff I never eat! And I will only order favorites from now on, since I can keep using them into transition. I am looking at every packet of oatmeal or shakes or soups as a step closer to getting rid of ALL my oatmeals, shakes and soups and being done with MF! Every packet is a step. The goal is to finish up ALL the Medifast packets that are not favorites by the time I hit transition. Not sure if this will make sense to anyone, but it is working for me so far..

I know exactly what you mean. I often plan weeks where I must use up the meals that are not my favorites. And I can understand wanting to do that before transition. Good for you!..

I so get what you are saying. I am famous for refusing to send back stuff (I hate paying shipping) and I have just sucked down (awful phrase) what I don't like. I love it when I get rid of the things I don't like. Then I just get to focus on my favorite things...

Today I took that old box of Blueberry oatmeal that I have had for months, and I made a dozen blueberry muffins out of them. They turned out nice! So I only have one packet of blueberry oatmeal left! Yay!..

Freedom..exactly what I do with my oatmeal. And I always kinda liked the oatmeal because I appreciated how full it make me. Okay..one more package..get in get out....

I know exactly what you mean. I decided to do that, too, even though I'm not close to transition. I ordered early and have enough things I don't like to space out for a good, long time. From now on, even at the risk of monotony, I'm ordering only what I want to eat...

I have so much Medifast food left it makes no sense! So now i'm eating chicken noodle soup or yuck vanilla pudding for breakfast. I'm only eating 2 a day now in maintenance and I dont want to throw any of it away. I figured after I get through these i'll be left with the couple of things I will continue to use. Oatmeal, pretzels, bars and cap...

I am trying to get rid of the mentality that I need to eat food because it's there. If I don't like it, why eat it. I hate to say I wasted money and have tossed a few things I couldn't tolerate, but I'd rather enjoy the food I'm eating than bother with something just because it's nutritious.

In the past, I ate, often large portions, of things I didn't really like. I don't know if it was punishment or thinking it just had to get better sometime. But no more. I think, if I can learn to be satisfied with the small portion of what I like, I'll be able to maintain this type of eating long after I reach goal..
