How do you make a "shake cake"? This is new to me..
Here is a basic shake cake recipe and one that is a little different. they are both shake cakes and I use the micro on both of these, my microwave takes about 1 min and 30 seconds.
1/2 t baking powder.
2 tbls egg beaters.
2 tbls water.
Stir all together and zap in microwave for about 2 minutes.
1 vanilla shake mix.
1 T Horizon Organic Egg Whites (like egg beaters).
2 and 1/2 T purified water.
1/2 tsp Bob's Red Mill non-aluminum double acting baking powder (found at Whole Foods).
1/4 tsp Watkin's pure vanilla extract.
1/4 tsp pure almond extract.
Sprinkle of cinnamon (probably like 1/4-1/2 tsp).
Put all ingredients into plastic cup or shaker jar, stir with fork. This batter is fairly thick. Preheat oven to 350, spray oven safe dish (I used a ramekin) with non-stick cooking spray, bake 15-20 minutes. You could probably use the microwave as well...
I actually like the vanilla shake cake better than the chocolate..
I think all the shake cakes come out nasty, I prefer the shakes with ice in the blender. As for vanilla shakes' flavor in general.. I won't buy them anymore because to me they have zero flavor and I wind up spending a condiment (sugar free syrup or cinnamon) on them...
I got one box of vanilla with my first package. Yuck. Can't find anything to make it taste good. I will not order any more of that. The only shake I like is the chocolate. I'm just now starting to look over this recipe board and hope to find some good ideas...
I make my vanilla shake in the magic bullet with brewed coffee and ice...yum!..
