First question I got is Meal ideas, sugar free Dukan Diet + advice? help? Thanks in advance for any answer. Another question... This recipe comes from Shirley J. in Midlothian, Virginia, who says she so enjoys the recipes sent in by other NutriSystem members that she decided to create one of her own. So using the very versatile NutriSystem Pancake Mix, here's what she has come up with. She notes, "This recipe satisfies my desire for a store-bought, fat- and sugar-laden cheese danish!".

Counts as breakfast entre + 1 protein serving + 1 fruit serving (if blueberries are used for topping) + free foods.

Ingredients.

.1 package NutriSystem Pancake Mix (including 1/3 cup skim milk, per directions).

.2 Tablespoons Splenda.

.2 Tablespoons fat-free cream cheese2 Tablespoons fat-free sour cream.

.1 Tablespoon egg subs*****ute.

.1/4 teaspoon lemon extract.

.Dash of vanilla extract.

.Optional: 3/4 cup fresh or frozen (thawed) blueberries.

Directions.

1.Mix Pancake Mix with 1/3 cup skim milk, per directions on package..

2.Add 1 T. Splenda and a dash of vanilla extract..

3.Spray a small oblong "au gratin"-type casserole (4 3/4" wide, by 7 1/2" long, by 1 1/2" deep) with non-stick spray. Pour or spoon mixture into casserole. Set aside..

4.Mix 2 T. cream cheese, 2 T. sour cream, 1 T. egg subs*****ute, 1 T. Splenda, and 1/4 t. lemon extract in a cup or small bowl..

5.Spoon cream cheese mixture onto top of pancake mixture, spreading it evenly over the top (or, depending on the size of your casserole dish, you can make little "wells" or "pockets" of cream cheese over the top)..

6.Bake in a 350-degree oven for about 15 minutes, or until pancake mixture is set. (Cream cheese mixture may still be a little watery, but it will set and be creamy when cooled.) If desired, top with fresh or frozen blueberries..

Enjoy!..

Hint.

Boy, does that bring back memories!!! There was a period when all posts were being censored for any words that might possibly be construed as dirty! It was done by computer, rather than humans, so it saw the letters TIT in the word substitute and *** them out!!! You couldn't write a word that ended in the letters SH and followed by the word IT without it all being replaced by ********!!! Man, it made for some interesting reading!!!..

Lmao if anyone wants the un-expurgated version, it's in my breakfast file thought it looked good when Shirley first posted it.....

Aaah perfect... just what I hoped to make for breakfast this morning with the wild blueberries we picked Sunday. I just made Shirley's Blueberry Cream Cheese Danish & it is decadent!.

What did you have?.

Helene..

Could anything be substituted for the egg sub? or can it be deleted?.

I never buy that and would need an entire pkg. for only 1 tbs..

I suppose I could cook it for a protein ,if need be..

Thanks...........phyllis..

Oh my goodness, Helen, your picture makes me want to just grab it and eat it! It looks sooooooooooo good!.

Mmm... I've made this quite a few times. So good!..

You can buy a canister of freeze dried egg whites, I forget what it is actually called, in the baking section. It should work well and it lasts forever, so you will have egg subs. for other recipes..

Helene, yours looks beautiful!! I've made this so many times, but mine never looks that pretty!!!.

Phyllis, the egg substitute is part of the breakfast protein, along with the cream cheese, so if you delete it, you won't be getting a full protein. Plus, it kind of helps hold it together after cooking. However, you could use just an egg white from a real egg. That's what egg subs are, anyway!!..

Helene! That looks wonderful! Now to get my butt out of bed early enough to cook a different breakfast..

I am definately going to try this one. It looks sooo good!..

Wow I have made this many times it is yummy!..

Just bumping this back up to the top for those that might not have seen it before. I loved it every time I made it and then today I tried it with the blueberry pancake mix. YUM!.

I don't like using up my fruit serving in a breakfast recipe if I can help it (I spread that out as a mid-morning snack) so using the Dukan Diet pancake mix that already had blueberries was a neat option..

I make mine in two 3-4" nonstick pans, kinda like large muffins. I dollop the "cheese" filling into the middle on top of the pancake mix and it stiffens up just like two danishes! I can't believe this is only breakfast + protein!..

Thanks for the bump! I don't think I've seen this before...

Lmao it IS in my breakfast file, I do believe..

Found it in graylady's file:.
