Oh my gosh it's already almost my third month and acne is still popping up and my lips are so incredibly sore and non stop peeling..if I put vaseline or chapstick or anything on my lips it doesn't help and it makes the chunks of peeling skin on my lips more visible! I woke up today and as soon as I opened my mouth to speak, my lower lip split in the middle and blood started gushing out! it was freaky...and my skin is so sore on the sides of my mouth too in hurts to eat. I can't look at people in the eyes at school..they probably think i'm a freak lol did anyone else have a similar experience in almost month 3?.

Your question was: Lips sore and peeling from Murad Acne Complex?.

Hey mrs cowell,I am in the exact same posistion as yourself. 3 months in, acne still here....having doubts about the medication etc etc. The dry lips is the only side effect I am having. My skin is not dry really...which I find weird. But my lips are killing me! I have what looks like a Jokers smile everyday.....a sore on each corner of my mouth. I just keep smothering them in vaseline, and I am holding on until my derm appointment in a week, then I can get some help for it!Good luck to you!You are not on your own!Danny..

I feel ya. I'm on 40mg/day and only been taking it lil over a month now. My lips are sooo chapped and I have sores also on the corners of my mouth. You're so right, chapstick makes the peeled skin more visible. Carmex is really my friend, but I'm out and I've been using hubby's. I need to invest in some more soon, but I'm trying to hold off by using up my Aveeno chapstick and Medicated Blistex.

What dose are you on? I'm scared to think about how my lips will feel at 60mg for month 3...

I'd really recommend globbing on Aquaphor before bed and in the morning. I definiately notice a difference if I put a ton on and try not to wipe it around with my lips. You can also use Neosporin on the edges of your lips if they're scabbing...

For me, wearing chapstick together with lip gloss worked wonders for my lips. Apply both before going to bed and your lips should feel better by morning! Good luck!..
