Quick question... It is impossible for me, Dukan DietING and exercise I give up! now what? death? Looking forward for any comment. Second question of mine... **This is not a Dukan Diet dessert***.

This is a low cal dessert I saw in my paper today. It's low cal but not enough protein and I don't know how to do that..

Reduced Fat Cherry Chocolate Refrigerator Pie.

Wafer Crust.

2 cups reduced fat vanilla wafer crumbs.

2 tbs melted butter.

1 tbs water.

Vanilla Layer.

1 1/2 cups cold ff milk.

1 box (6 serv) sugar free vanilla pudding.

Chocolate Layer.

3 tbs chocolate syrup.

8 oz FF frozen topping thawed.

1/2 cup chopped walnuts toasted.

1/4 cup maraschino cherries sliced.

1. combine the vanilla wafer crumbs, butter and water until evenly distributed. Reserve 2 tbs for the top, then press the remainder in the bottom of a 8 inch square pan. Set aside.

2. Beat cold milk into pudding mix 1 minute until it starts to thicken. Spread on bottom of crust. Set aside..

3. Stir chocolate syrup into whipped topping. Fold in walnuts and cherries. Spread over vanilla layer. Sprinkle reserved crumbs over top. Chill for 2 hours or overnight..

12 servings..

170 calories.

5 grams fat.

254 grams sodium.

29 grams carb.

3 grams protein..

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the answer to that question. I'll do some research and get back to you if I discover an anything. You should email the people at Dukan Diet as they probably could help you..

OK I think you could do a reasonable version of your pie for 150 cal per serving (with 6 gr protein) by using sugar free choc syrup, frozen cherries, light margarine/butter (need the moisture and flavor of the 2 tbsp, but half the fat shouldn't be an issue) and cutting back on the nuts (to 1/4 cup) and adding 3 scoops of AnyWhey and since the "center" of the pie is vanilla pudding, I *think* it could handle that much AnyWhey without problem (or you could mix some of the AnyWhey into the pudding and the rest into the choc/cool whip mixture).

The only thing I had problems calculating was the crust at 8 'Nilla Wafers per serving, how many make 2 cups crushed (and after you figure that, how much wood DID that woodchuck chuck???) but nice, dear, wonderful calorieking.com had a count for a pre-made Nabisco 'Nilla Wafer crust, so I used that as a guide the cherries were also difficult, but my guess there should be close enough for government purposes....

I've attached a pdf file with my calculations for the recipe as is and as revised, in total and per 1/12 serving, so you can see amounts.

Have fun.

Sounds good Lynn. Good job, I knew you could do it...

Thank you so much Lynn!! That really helped.

I'm going to make this over the weekend to bring to a cookout..

Decisions, decisions. Do I use my precious whey or save it for myself!..

OH if it's for a party???? then, I'd suggest that you just make it in the "lightened" version WITHOUT the precious (and expensive) whey and find a way to add protein to your own meal (I'm a cheap brat myself - lmao).

Lightened version, without AnyWhey, but with prepared crust (only adds 10 cal per 1/12 of pie and is way easier - lmao) - assuming you: a) feel lazy; and b) can find one 1/12 of pie is 145 calories, 2 grams protein so you'd want to add 4-6 gr protein, BUT you'll be at a COOKOUT!!! if it were me - I'd just have an extra ounce of chicken (45 cal, 8 gr protein) and call it good enough!!!.

Have fun.
