Quick question... It is difficult to go to a vegan Dukan Diet from years of eating meat? Thanks in advance for any response. Second question of mine... I've always liked this meal, even tho the stench of the pimento, when you open the container is pretty strong, I've always enjoyed eating it..

But it occurred to me I could never taste either the alleged lemon or the butter. So, tonight, I added a teaspoon of Molly McButter (Butter Buds would work) and a packet of.

True Lemon.

, along with a couple TBL of FF yoghurt. Wow. It was wonderful..

The method was as follows:.

Dump a 10 oz bag of sliced mushrooms into a micro safe bowl with lid. I use Gladware. Sprinkle with Molly and any other spices you like. I added some garlic powder and.

Northwoods Fire.

Nuke for 4 minutes. The mushrooms release a lot of juice..

Dump the entree over this juicy mushroom mess, add the yoghurt and packet of True Lemon, stir until the yoghurt is mixed in, nuke for a minute, enjoy..

Now.

That.

Was a lemon butter sauce dish!..

Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the right answer. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I find an answer. You should email the people at Dukan Diet as they probably could assist you..

That's a great idea!!! I was so hopeful when this entree first came out and was so disappointed that I couldn't taste any lemon or butter, so I haven't ordered one since. But this sounds good enough that I think I'll put it back on the menu!!!..

Yes, Clay, I adore Penzey's! I love the Northwoods Fire, their ground chipotle, the sandwich sprinkle, Balti, Singapore, Bangkok, and all the Indian curry blends, and the cinnamon. Heaven!.

Judi, try one, and see if this does the trick for ya. I really enjoyed it. It turns out soupy, but I really like that..

Agreed, Libra, I've learned so much from these boards and was lucky to find them very early in my signing on the program. The Dukan Diet went from drudgery to joy, in no time...

Soupy is great!!! I also am a huge Penzey's fan! I don't have the Northwoods, but I think I probably have every flavor they put into it. I have to place another order soon because I'm almost out of curry and I use that almost every day, and I can't wait to see what freebie spice they send!!!..

I ALWAYS add lemon and garlic to this one. And usually have it with mushrooms and artichoke hearts..

OK, now I kinda want this for dinner tonight. I have some shrooms in the fridge I need to use up, and I think I have artichoke hearts in the freezer .....

I have 3 of these - trying to get excited about eating them. I always do more lemon and garlic and I guess I need to revisit them and do what you have done. sounds delicious...

Yeah, Judi! The Sandwich Sprinkle was a freebie, now I'm devoted. Great marketing technique. I am also about ready for another order. Sprinkle is almost gone, cinnamon, also, I'm out of the ground chipotle..but the Northwoods Fire is a decent stand in..

Robin, you add fresh lemon? That would probably be even better. And a mix of the True Lemon with fresh would probably be cool, also..

Stacie, I think, aside from the added spices, the juicy mushrooms really make the dish. I use that technique as my veggie base for so many of the entreesespecially the stroganoff and the mushroom risotto. For me, all the Dukan Diet sauces are hugely improved by being thinned out either with the mushroom juice or with liberal additions of chicken or other broth..

Adding FF yoghurt or sour cream is also good. Anything to thin the Dukan Diet sauce is good, IMO...

I had the lemon butter sauce with chicken and noodles as my dinner tonight (Day 2). I 'doctored' it up using the information from this thread added some cooked and 'juiced up' fresh mushrooms, garlic, lemon juice, and a little FF sour cream (instead of yogurt). It was very good! Much better than last night's dinner (beef/mushroom with pasta)..

I don't know if others are finding this, but the food (particularly the dinners) is really filling. I can't eat the entire dinner in one sitting (but I add veggies to the dinners) and they keep me filled up for hours afterward...

Thanks for the idea about the Lemon Butter Dish. I also add FF sour cream and lots of mushrooms to most of the beef/gravy dishes. Makes them taste like REAL beef stroganoff!..

This is one of my favorite meals. I sautee some onion and lots of fresh, sliced mushrooms in some pam with some dried thyme (great with mushrooms) and lemon zest. Then I deglaze the pan with 1 T of white wine (free food) and dump the entree in. If necessary, I add a little bit of FF chicken broth. At the very end I hit it with a lot of fresh squeezed lemon (usually about half a lemon's worth). Add a sprinkle of some chopped fresh parsley and I have a gourmet meal!..

Yes, I tried the BBQ, it's very sweet. I didn't much care for it, but lots of people love it. It wasn't bad, just not my taste. Try it and see what you think. It's not a bad meal or scary or anything...

This is just the kind of "fixes" I've been looking for. I start tomorrow and I'm jazzed. I know the better the taste is and the more filling the meals are, the happier I'll be..

I tried the suggestion of Mushrooms & Artichoke Hearts to go with the Lemon Butter Chicken and it was great. I tried the sauce of the Lemon Butter Chicken before adding the additional veggis and thought the sauce was really good on it's own. My Husband loved it too. Thanks for the idea!..
