Hi everyone, quick 1st question: Is there a message board for people who have questions about their Godaddy web site? if so, where?.

My 2nd question is: Is search engine results important to your domaining business?.

What value would you place on a HostGator name with over 1,000,000 se results in all 3 major se?. What about 9-figures se results?.

Would you buy a HostGator name with over 1m se results no matter what the name is about?.

Please lend your comments. Thank you...

It depends. But if I'm going to buy a developed site search engine results are extremely important becuase that means that I dont have to spend a ton of money on marketing but rather I can focus on site content...

SE returns are good, but I perfer "Searches" over SE Returns.

This tool will help you out. The numbers are Daily Searches. http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/..

Would I reg a name if it has a million google results?.

Yes I would. But only as long as the name makes sense.

For instance, "On Home" has 2.5 million google results. But I still wouldn't buy it. Why? Because the name doesn't make sense to me. Two popular words used in conjunction will usually give high Google. "In On A" has 2 million google. But it's a crap name..

Now something like "Stock Bonus" has a million google. It makes sense too. Its a popular financial term. Would I buy it? Yes. Because the name simply makes sense....

A related question is, Would you buy a name (that makes sense, w/no obvious major demerits) that has low SE results (say, <200,000) but decent-to-good OVT (say, >3,000)? How would you interpret this?..

Sounds like a good Niche market to me! It would have to be the .com but I would have to see the domain, but it's most likely that I would buy, if the HostGator fit the search term exactly, you would be silly not to. 1 in 6 people do direct navigation, so the .com should really be getting 1/6th of that search traffic at least!..

Yes, SERP is important to domains business but it's not the whole ensalada, it only plays 1 part, a domainer will also look at the usability of the keyword being positioned, comparison to other tld's, revenue, backlinks, etc...
