The only product I cannot use is the oatmeal...can I cook oats plain with water? Will it be an ok substitute? Help please!..

Nope, totally different items. Medifast "oatmeal" is actually a high-protein, low-carb dietary supplement packed with nutrition. Regular oatmeal is a carby, lower protein, non-fortified grain.

You CAN choose just not to eat the oatmeal and instead have other Medifast items though!..

Thankyou for replying..I am new to plan and would hate to mess up!..

You can have regular oatmeal once your in transition & maintenance. Until then, 5 Medifast packets are interchangeable with other Medifast packets, but not anything else. So you can have 5 brownies a day and never eat oatmeal or soup, but you can't swap a Medifast brownie for a regular brownie..

No need to eat oatmeal! If you can't stand it, you have some options: wait a few weeks for your taste buds to change and try it again, cook it as a "bar" "granola" or "muffins" with one of the recipes on the boards, give it away, or Ebay it..

Welcome to MF!..

Hi!.

I just started my second week and made a batch of muffins the other day because I too, was having a hard time with the oatmeal. I really wanted to like it, because I'm enjoying everything else so much. I think it's just a consistency thing for me. Anyway, the muffins are great and really hit the spot when you just want a bread like product.

I know there are a few recipes out there for them, just let me know if you need it or want to try it and I'll send it over to you!.

Have a great day!..

Barb...the oatmeal was nasty to me too. Yesterday I made a shake cake with the oatmeal and it was so much more edible..you should try it so you dont waste teh oatmeal..

I couldn't stand the oatmeal, but after a few weeks, I tried it again and it wasn't that bad. I don't order it anymore though, I like the shakes and bars better...

Can not stand the oatmeal in a bowl with water but I LOVE making them into mini-muffins - About to pop 7 lil mini apple oatmeal muffins in the oven actually.

I feel mentally I am really getting more and I prefer to chew my food to drinking it.

7 muffins VS. 1 Bowl..

Barbara - Oatmeal is not mandatory. If you don't like it, don't eat it. I tried it every way I could think. The only edible way I found was pancakes and even those were only good drowned in Walden Farms syrup. So, I just saved my money and ordered things I truly enjoyed...
