I just received 6 of them in my shipment. Didn't order any of them since last time I tried it I felt like I was eating lotion. It had a really weird taste and smell. I just called CS and they are replacing them with pepper steak!..
1 14-oz. can cut okra (or 2 C. frozen, not breaded).
1 14.5-oz. can stewed diced tomatoes.
1/2 can chicken broth or vegetable broth (free food).
1/2 bell pepper, chopped.
1/4 onion, chopped.
2 celery stalks, chopped.
1 clove garlic, minced.
2 NutriSystem New Orleans-style Rice with Chicken Breast lunch meal packets.
1 generous dash Worcestershire sauce (up to 1 tsp. allowed per day).
1 bay leaf.
1 dash salt & white/black/red pepper (or Tony Chachere's seasoning) to taste.
1 cup imitation crabmeat (ie, Louis Rich or store-brand"Krab" chunks).
Combine all ingredients in a crockpot (do not drain cans; add Krab during the last hour of cooking if possible) and cook on low overnight. It will look darker than when you started, but don't worry (it's not burned; this is how the 'real deal' cooks up in New Orleans)..
Remove bay leaf before serving, and top with a sprinkling of gumbo file', if desired..

Try the (newish) Tabasco Sauce Sweet & Hot sauce-it really cuts through the too smoky and processed taste, and makes a world of difference(to my weird palate, anyhoo). This stuff tastes great on anything and everything!..
