Your question was: Is Godaddy web hosting cheap?.
There are still many registrars offering $6.95-$7.19 transfers.
Only .net transfer price can be as low as $5.99 or less...
Unfortunately (and luckily) that is only true for .COM and .NET domains.
The other extensions have gone up in price.
Sorry to know that but I bet the HostGator registration is still on that price?..
Then you would lose the bet!.
Name.com current pricing for NEW Registrations:.
Name.com current pricing for HostGator Transfers:.
No he wouldnt, new regs are still $5.99 as you showed in your post (and I mentioned in my initial post)..
Ouch, that sucks big time!.
I use to use them for transfering out names from other places. Now I've gotta look for somewhere else..
I have no idea but would like to know that as well..
I didn't see anywhere a $5.99 for .COM transfer.
Sometimes I moved the names from domainsite to name because of this low price of name.com..
I was just starting to move domains there, myself. What about renewal pricing? I imagine that it will be the same as transfer...
Renewal was never $5.59. Always be careful and never assume that if you transfer at $X, you will be able to renew at $X...
I suppose it depends on how one reads and interprets it:.
"sorry to know that but I bet the HostGator registration is still on that price?".
I didn't take it to refer just to .COM.
What are their renewal costs? I can't find a pricing sheet on their site. Misleading imho since their FAQ states there is one on front page. I could transfer then find out renewals are expensive...
Here's how to find out renewal pricing.
Create a Name.com account if you don't already have one.
Click on "Transfer".
On the next page you'll see the pricing chart for renewals by HostGator extension.
