My first question is Is Ephedra in Dukan Diet pills going back on the market? Many thanks for any answer. Another quick question... I made Jeannie's cheesy crab puffs last night for dinner- OMG! They were better than any crab cake I've ever ordered in a restaurant and completely on plan!..

The answer is Yes, although you might want to make sure and wait for another member to confirm my answer as I am on the fence. Better yet, why don't you call the Dukan Diet guys because they can answer your Dukan Diet question better...

These would be great w/ the WF Seafood Sauce (its like cocktail sauce)...

I made Jeannie's cheesy crab puffs for lunch yesterday. They were wonderful. I do not have a puff pan yet, so I made them into crab cakes. I added lemon juice to them just before I ate them. YUMM... dh thought they smelled good and tasted very good...

*wiping the slobber off my keyboard*.

Jeannie, you are AWESSSSSOME!!!!!!! Now...... to the pantry to see if I have all o' that!.

*goofy grin*..

What is the tomato, garlic and herb Mrs Dash?.

Not familiar with this......

Is this in the spice aisle?.

Can't wait to try this recipe!!!.

What about the canned crab? Is there a certain brand I should look for?.

Thanks so much for your help!!!..

Would frozen crab meat work? Imitation kind? I have access to some of that free..

I have been wanting to try these...

Yes, the Mrs. Dash is in the spice isle and they have lots of varieties...

Yeah, I've always been able to use frozen imitation crab meat in place of canned crab in many recipes although the canned crab is REALLY easy to work with as it's super shredded while the other is chunks or rolled.........

I prefer the canned for cooking but the other for snacking.

Depends on your likes and budget (and I guess whats available locally)..

I didn't have any Mrs Dash, so I replaced it with Old Baydelish!..

I found the Mrs. Dash in the spice aisle, although I couldn't find that EXACT one, I used a Garlic and Herb version. The recipe turned out fabulous!.

As for the canned vs. frozen imitation crab, I would watch the stats. Overall, the refrigerated pouches of imitation crab seem similar to the canned, but I did pick up a pouch of crab in the aisle with the tuna fish and canned products, and it was kind of low in protein. The canned version had 8 grams in 3 ounces, but the pouched version was like 3 grams for 2.5 ounces..

Try this recipe - it is great!.

Hi, this crab puff sounds like something great - can someone direct me to the recipe?.

Thanks...

Here we are! I did a search and it came right up under the puff pan thread!.

And here's her Cheesy Crab Puff Recipe... I don't have the picture, though..

Dipped in FF sour cream......heaven!.

Counts as entree + protein..

Recipe:.

1/3 cup Heart Healthy Bisquick.

1 Tbsp minced onion.

1 tsp tomato, garlic & herb Mrs Dash.

3 oz. canned crab (drained well).

1 Tbsp eggbeaters.

1 Tbsp real bacon bits.

1/4 cup FF shredded cheddar cheese.

1/2 tsp baking powder.

3 1/2 Tbsp water.

Spray puff pan with olive oil Pam spray and heat up (medium heat!!). When hot fill each cup 3/4 full. When done, flip and cook other side. It made 9 big ones and one half one...

Any special preparation instructions or do you just mix all of the ingredients together?..

Do you think you could replace the bisquick with Dukan Diet pancake mix? I'm still new enough to the program that I am afraid to eat on my own. I don't want to mess up my success so far..

By the way, thanks for finding the recipe!..

Yes, you can use the Dukan Diet pancake mix but it won't make the puff as tender. I've done it both ways and I like the Bisquick better but since you haven't tried it yet it shouldn't make any difference to you...

YUM! Thanks for finding it! Crab is going on the grocery list!..

This sounds so good. I don't know what a puff pan is though??? What is the serving size? The recipe said it made 9 1/2.. do you eat all of them? I'm thinking the puff pans must be something really small? I'd like to try this, but don't want to screw up. Can someone clarify? Thanks...

Good question cat, I need to know also if I can eat all the puffs at once...

Can someone tell me what the heck this little tool is?..

Yes, You eat all of them. A puff pan is a cast iron pan that has little indentions all around it. You use it in the stove, not oven. You put the dough in the indentions and it rises as it cooks. You turn them when they are cooked on one side and when they cook on the other side, they form a ball. That's why they're called puffs.

I bought my puff pan at Target, but had to ask a clerk for it because I couldn't find it..

Debbie..

Please Please Please,.

WHere do I find this recipee? Or could someone send it to me? Thanks, Lard..

Please can you post this recipee...thanks.. Lard 2 Lose..

There is a big long thread here on the recipe forum with all kinds of recipes on it using the puff pan...

I tried finding it the other day, and didn't have any luck. Can't wait to try them!..

Hi! Would this count as a replacement of a Dukan Diet Entree, or the whole meal? For example, if I had this for dinner, would I eat them, as well as a veggie serving, salad/fruit serving & fat serving...or would the crab puffs count as 1 entire dinner? They sound delicious! I can't wait to try them!!..

Does anyone know the answer to my question?.

I'm only in my 3rd week and don't want to over/under eat!.

THANK YOU!..

Hello,.

You may want to try starting a new thread in Food Talk to ask this question..

Have a nice day,..

Hi, Charelle...you sounded so desperate that I wanted to help.

... from my reading of this thread my answers are:.

You are supposed to.

Eat all the puffs.

And it counts as.

1 Dukan Diet Entree and 1 Protein..

So, what I will do, when I make these (not as puffs, because I do not own a pancake puffer...but I will put them in mini-cupcake dishes) is I will:.

- save my lunch protein for the day and use it at dinner for these puffs.

- make and eat.

All.

The puffs and count it as my Dukan Diet Entree for the night (ie: Dukan Diet Dinner Entree).

- eat the puffs with 2 veggies.

And.

A salad.

Or.

Fruit because those (2 veggies and 1 fruit or salad) are my "add-ins" with my Dukan Diet dinner.

Again, I don't know if this is 100% correct because I was not the inventor of the recipe, but it's what I would do when following my program. I hope this helps.

Good Luck!..

Check out the recipe on page 2 of this thread. Substitute salmon etc for the crab...

How do I get the recipe to jeannie's chessy crab puffs..

Can this be made in a regular muffin tin and baked? I know that there are several puff pan recipes out there but I hear that they lose their allure after some time so I don't think I'd want to buy one...

I've made these as "pancakes" and it works fine! You do need to be careful to get it done all the way through. Takes a little longer for the pancake version...

Where can I find the recipe? It sounds wonderful and I love crab!..
