Got a quick question: I'm watching my Dukan Diet and excercising, but not losing weight...what gives? Thanks in advance for any comment. Second question.. French Toast (Spiced).

French Toast (Spiced).

Counts as breakfast about 157.5 calories (10.5g protein) & free food (syrup) 30 calories).

Fat Free Reddi Whip optional.

3 slices Light Wheat bread (120 calories) 5g protein.

Tsp. imitation vanilla extract.

Cup light soymilk or FF milk if you dont have the soy (17.5 calories) 1.5g protein.

1 egg white (20) 4g protein.

Tsp. cinnamon.

1 dash nutmeg.

2 tbsp. Splenda.

1/8 tsp. imitation rum extract.

1/4 cup SF syrup 30 calories "free food".

Heat large skillet just above medium temp. In a small bowl, mix together egg white, milk, extracts, cinnamon, nutmeg, and Splenda. Whip mixture for a bout 30 seconds..

Spray pan with nonstick spray (between each round as well). Stire mixture well again. Dip one piece of bread in the liquid mixture, coating both sides. (Careful not to soak the bread or use too much you won't have enough left for your other pieces! ) If you want you can spoon the mixture over the bread to coat it, instead of dipping it in the bowl. Place the bread on the sprayed pan. Cook one side 30-45 seconds.

Repeat with the following pieces of bread. If your pan is large enough, you may be able to cook two at a time to minimize cooking time. Spread cooked slices with Promise Fat Free butter spread if desired, then top with one serving SF maple syrup. I also topped mine with some Fat Free Reddi Whip (5 calories per 2 tablespoons), I just used a little less than a serving of the SF syrup to make up for the calories..

Enjoy warm!.

If you don't like cinnamon that much, you can use half the allotted amount or omit it, and use a bit extra imitation vanilla extract...

Good question... I dunno what is the right answer. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I discover an useful answer. You should email the people at Dukan Diet as they probably could assist you..

I will try that..........not really that much different than my typical recipe so that is good to know...........I guess it is really in the bread you use!!..

Yeh, pretty much! The light bread makes it Dukan Diet friendly! I have white and whole wheat light... both of which have 5 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber in 2 slices... not bad!..

That sounds sooo great. I didn't think we were allowed bread..I just started Dukan Diet a few days ago..Right now I am trying to decide what to have for dinner..I am hungry and a little cranky.(and a little confused)..

This recipe cheered me up! Thanks. I will look forward to breakfast...

Well, the bread is whole wheat (lower GI) and it already has 7.5 grams of protein (most light breads have 5g. protein for 2 slices, so 3 would make 7.5) and then there is an egg white and light soymilk (or FF milk) being added to it which also contain protein, let's say about 5 more grams (~4 from the egg white and 1-1.5 from the milk) which lowers the GI even more and makes the total protein count 12.5..

Not too shabby for bread... lol..

That looks really good. I am going to try it tomorrow. Do you count the egg white as your dairy?.

Jan K...

You need 3 egg whites or one egg for a protein serving...

Looks really good. How much protein, carbs, etc is in this???..

Bunny, I miss seeing your posts!.

Hey guys!!.

Aww, thanks so much for the love! I miss being around more often! School and work have really taken over my life! LOL I am also busy with a sorority I entered this spring! I still come around and lurk a lot though!.

I am actually at work right now *shh* lol.

Summer orientation at my campus. I snuck off to my dorm for a second!.

Jan K The egg stats are actually included in the recipe stats, so NO! The whole thing counts as breakfast!.

Birdie as usual, I don't know the carb counts! :/ I'm going back to edit the other stats now as they are the same brands I always use and those totals are ingrained in my head!.

Caril I miss you all as well!!! I am really going to try to come around more often!.

Kaykay- that's so sweet!!!! Thanks!!!!.

Newyrnewhope Looking FAB!!!!!! I know you are a 100% ice cream believer! LOL!!!!!!!!! Love ya doll!..
