My first question is: I need to build A web site, who is best to use? IE godaddy?.

My next question is: It is a great .ORG with huge end user potential, but to be honest I don't think at that price it is anything special. I have seen much better domains go cheaper IMO...

Your question was: I need to build A web site, who is best to use? IE godaddy?.

There are a ton of potential end users for this domain, though, so I can only assume that this was an end user sale...

Ecology acronym + org = winner!.

But, ~$48k for that name to me is a bit overpriced. i'd still love to be the seller though..

As end user's a good deal..

Tons of potential for that name...

The price seems to be right for this one..

I think bit expensive for .org. sold for xx,xxx as well and it is 2 letter .org...

I would have to agree with this as well...

I voted expensive assuming it is a reseller... although it is relatively cheap if it was an end user. Who knows if it'll actually go through though...

All I wanna know is, where did that 2 dollars come from?.

Buyer: I'll give you $48,000 bucks....

Seller: No deal.

Buyer: I'll give you $48,002 bucks....

Seller: You got it!..

Where was this sale?.

Is it verified..

Btw, great name & a good/fair price, middle enduser range for a name of this quality imo..

It was an auction, not an offer/counter offer. Making bids like that often save you from having to go up an entire increment. Lets say the bidding is currently at $47k with you in the lead, and the highest you want to go is $48k. You set your proxy at $48,002 so if someone tries to beat you with a $48,001 bid, your proxy will beat them at $48,002. You will only have to go up $2 instead of $1,000 to be back in the lead. GreatDomains, so it could fall through...

Very cheap IMO, a 3 letter .org for a start and a name with unlimited "green cred" and applications...

My friends if do just alittle research the mystery hologram of this HostGator price opens up.

I see it is now owned by which is a internet law company who litigates virtual property, so you know they really have a grasp on a value on virtual intellectual property,,, if you look into the archive data ,, you will be surprised to see this HostGator was a non profit organization affiliated with most of the top universities in the usa to england... it has a very impressive PR of 7 even with no content has hundreds of high quality links that are actually impossible even to buy for thousands of dollars,,, it's history is well respected and is a top authority of green alternatives this HostGator is has real intristic value way beyond our imaginations it would take 20 years to build up these links and it would only be possible with high quality non commercial very respective quality university level authority... domainers we need to look way beyond just the name to even begin to comprehend why a company would pay for this, many deals go behind the scenes that sell for millions but we dont hear about them this one escaped the veil and a smart company jumped on it.......

I voted for about right. But I would figure that within a few years, it's value will rise..
