Quick question... I just joined Nutrisystem and am totally lost can anyone offer any guidance? Thanks in advance for any answer or 2. Another question... Today a friend came over and totally messed up my food plan for the day. She brought with her a cake, a really small 6" cake but cake none the less. She knows nothing about me and Nutrisystem and I wasn't about to tell her.



It is already 8:26 pm here and this is what I have had today..

Nutrisystem breakfast bar on the way to church.

Nutrisystem tuna w/sandwich thin and huge salad for lunch, I added an egg to my tuna.

Small, very small piece of cake and I took the icing off..

Just finished Nutrisystem mac and cheese w/beef and I added some turkey sausage crumbles..

I haven't had any fruit and just 2 glasses of tea. My mom suggested I count my cake as my Nutrisystem dessert. I have a banana I can eat and that would be two fruits....what would you do?..

That's a good question. I'm not sure what is the answer to your question. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I got an decent answer. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably can help you..

I would immediately put the rest of the cake down the garbage disposal to take away the temptation..

As for the piece of cake you already had, log it, but it shouldn't replace any of theNutrisystemmeals or add-ins. The dessert is part of theNutrisystemmeals & has more protein than the cake. So accept that the cake was off plan, but please eat your dessert, have the rest of your add-ins & as much water as you can..

We all have hic-cups, we just have to learn from it, let it go & move on...

Usually cakes are made with butter or other fat ingredients - I would think that the piece you ate had less protein than aNutrisystembar and more fat than 4 halves of walnut. Therefore I would skip the fat for today and make sure I eat all the protein and fruit missed earlier in the day..

Just wondering - did you skip the fruit and protein for breakfast because of this planned visit of your friend?,..

Gri, the visit was unplanned so it through me all off but, I was just running late for church so I ate the bar in the car. I was going to catch up this afternoon...

Another thing that I would do is giveNutrisystema call. They are there 24 hours/day...

You were thrown off this time, but this kind of thing will happen again, so plan for it. For the future, come up with a plan for when something like this comes up. You don't have to tell anyone aboutNutrisystemor even that you're trying to lose weight. You can just say you're trying to eat healthier, that you aren't hungry right now, that you're not much of a cake eater, whatever. Have a plan in mind for when unexpected eating opportunities arise. Don't let someone else's actions become an excuse...

Only you can mess up your food plan. Do not put the blame on others - you must hold yourself accountable. You must learn how to deal with these situations in order to be successful in the future..

The good news ... today is a new day and you can go 100%. It is simple and it works...

I probably have a not so popular take on this situation but I am going to share anyway. First, I agree with what was said about you being the one in control of what you eatnot someone else. And, always have a plan for how you are going to handle somethinggreat suggestion about not being hungry right now and will eat cake laterthen it can conveniently disappear, down the disposal, not down you! Anyway, I always try to live by theNutrisystemguidelines daily but if I have something unplanned, I always go to my Plan B which is calorie countingyou can say what you want, but it does come down to calories. So, I would have considered this my dessert and not eaten a dessert that night. You might be lacking in a little protein or whatever, but once in a while you will survive that and that would help keep you in the calorie range. Also, if something like that happens and I still have lunch or dinner to eat, I would find the entree with the least amount of calories and be sure my add ins were as low in calorie as possible.

I am healthy, strong, and below goalfor me, can't beat that!..
