My first question is: I have a site hosted by godaddy and I was using it's Control Center and my pictures won't show up on ?

My next question is: I get names in my 'get your names' account by winning at snapnames (I would never register there). The 2 times I have tried to get my domains transferred out it's like a bad game. First off to do anything to your HostGator eg dns change/unlock etc you have to mail them and ask for them to do this.

Twice now I have asked for auth codes and unlocking it and I get this:.

Hello,.

The current auth. code is:.

The HostGator is already unlocked.

Notice there is no auth code just a blank? I emailed them back the first time and they say 'they can see the code, funny I can't'. It volleys back a few more times then I get an auth code. Its happening again right now.

Now this isn't a huge thing just very annoying and their stalling is unacceptable.

What concerned me was when I asked for them to provide me the code I stated I needed it because I just sold it (not that it's any of their business but I thought it might motivate them to be quicker with the code). I get sent this back-.

Please note that a question of /img/avatar7.jpgship is one reason to deny a.

Transfer. It may be best if you supply the new /img/avatar7.jpg's information.

And we make the change immediately..

Thank you.

Wouldn't this make it unable to be transferred if this is changed and they would have to keep it another 60 days (or am I confusing godaddy's rule?)?.

Its very odd they would want to change the name for me, is this odd to you? Do they think if they stall enough I will have to renew with them? I am glad my buyer is understanding. I am thinking about contacting snap about what is going on as well.

Your question was: I have a site hosted by godaddy and I was using it's Control Center and my pictures won't show up on ?

I knew when they first sent this it was leading to something. Just received this email: One of the criteria that we as a registrar are supposed to review is the ownership of a HostGator name, a question on the ownership is call for a denial of the transfer. Who owns the HostGator name?.

I emailed them back-.

I DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

This is crazy.....

Wow sure you are not dealing with ipower or 1and1?! What morons..

Good luck Gary!..

They are Dickheads and like you say, stalling - I just had the same problem and by the time I actually got a useful answer from them it was too late to transfer it out, I think it was about $ 17 or so renewal but by then I did'nt have much choice.

It should be called - Getyernameifyoucan.com !.

Their website is soooo fugly too.

If you have any names with them I recommend you don't wait until anywhere near renewal time to move it.

Ps - I very much doubt they are owned by snapnames, snapnames are usually excellent to deal with IMO.

Are you talking about Name.com? I reg many names with them because they're cheap but haven't tried to transfer out yet so can't comment.

Name.com is owned by DomainSite.com..

Name.com is the best registrar I have ever seen. No funny complex interface, no need to email for your authorization code etc etc. And lowest cost..

I dont have problem to transfer out of them...

I assumed he meant these guys www.getyername.com.

I'v never had any problems with Name.com & Domainsite.com either.

From getyername.com ?

...

No, for name.com Transfer Outs. I have in the past some problems with domainsite propagation times, but name.com is one of my low cost transfers ( www2.stargate.com at 5.95 is the other )..

Oh, ok. Never heard about these guys before. Is that a site or just a light blue page with a few bits of text & links?.

Looks absolutely shocking IMO..

Yup ...especially for a company calling themselves Aim High!, Inc.

If they aim any higher they'll shoot themselves in the foot.

How many people have you blinded with that site?.

I'm trying to get a domain, using both snapnames and pool...thanks for sharing the experience though, will try to transfer immediately if snapnames gets it...
